Captain Cook Park Alaska
Boulders everywhere in this view at low tide.
Many are still seen when the tide comes in.
Most are glacial erratics, brought down by ice
walls that were a mile or more thick, not just
once but several times in the past ages.
Stranded on the boulders!
This is a older small photo from 2006
First photo is from last summer 2018
There was two people on the rocks
for about 20 minutes before a small
boat came and got them.
This grouping of boulders seems
more special in some way.
Happy Boulder Sunday!

Show us your boulders
A boulder is a rock that is too huge to lift
and take home by yourself without aid.
Dictionary says a detached & rounded
or worn rock, especially a large one.
Must use your own photographs
and some words describing where the
boulder is and what kind of camera.
Make a post, keep it clean and throw
the boulder photo and link here.

holy shasta, that's a bunch of them! A good storm brought those to shore for sure!
LOL it's those long Alaskan summers mixed
with a rare batch of minerals and auroras that
helps grow boulders! Mostly glacial erratics 💎
Those look like some shipwrecking boulders
Posted using Partiko Android
They sure do don't they! There are some huge ones
way way out there, thought one was a ship but it
was a megaboulder lol
There is a shipping lane out there, best stay in it :-)
Big ships go through Cook inlet to Anchorage and
the Oil docks in Nikiski. In Homer they sometimes
sit in the bay and wait out big storms.
You have a neighborhood full of great boulders!
There sure are a lot of them up there at the park! lol
Might not be able to get back there till spring
to get some closeups, been scoping out some
closer ones :-)
Love your lion boulder!!
What a beautiful background! I was just saying to my husband today that I would love to get to Alaska some day. I showed him your photo and he loved it too.
There is so much beauty up here that it takes
a couple lifetimes to see it all they say :-)Thank you so much @nat-expressions!
Beautiful photos - were you affected at all by the earthquake? Did you feel it? I'll be back soon with some boulders of my own. U+R
Oh yes we felt it lol, I did a write up
on it this evening :-)Thank you very much @keithboone!

Those boulders of yours sure have a nice setting
with their snow caps and river view, what a cool
spot :-)Thank you so much @scottshots!!
Oh these folks have a heck of a story, I think they
might of been linked up with nailman! lol
In fact that story of yours might need retelling to
the newer steemians ;-)
Hahaha! Nail Man gets around... Too funny, yeah, maybe I'll have to tell the story in a video next time. Glad you like the #bouldersunday photo, cheers!
was offered this video and thought oh man
Scott has to see this LOL@scottshots I said ''Nail Man'' to many times!!
3000 NAILS instead of a TIRE
If he throws some nails the back tires will go flat! haha
Haha! That was too funny. People come up with some strange ideas... Yeah, that dude probably knows Nail Man.
