It's been over two years since I've written a post here. Yes, my account is from way, way back when Hive was Steem and just getting started. It was an exciting and electrifying time, when it seemed that this platforms central idea was destined to take off in one form or another.
Daily, I would search for similar projects, many of which have since failed. To be honest, I can scarcely remember their names anymore. Hive is the only one that has endured, never mind becoming wealthy off of it (though a good many people have - I haven't).
But simply managing not to fail is an accomplishment in and of itself.
Still, the days when it felt like it was only a matter of time before Steem/Hive went "to the moon" are long gone. Now it just seems like a wise place to store some amount of value. Eight years. That's a very long time. Yet not so long when you consider that ten years ago, most people didn't know what crypto was.
But my hopes for the future don't hinge on crypto, or any given platform. I know that in order to become successful, one must invest in oneself and make broad investments over a long period of time.
And who knows? Another five years from now, and the boom everyone's been hoping for might actually come.
Till then or next time, whichever comes first.
Welcome back friend!!! Is nice to see an original using HIVE. And yes, you're right the community is the most important part of HIVE.
