The Walking Dead, when it started was a story about a man named Rick Grimes, who awakens from a coma only to realize that the world has ended. People worse than the living dead. You get to watch normal people turn into maniacs. Nobody is ever the same again after what they've all been put through. I am definitely one of those people that watched this show from the very beginning. Some people just couldn't get into it, but I did, and I loved it. I mean, for anyone who has wondered what a zombie apocalypse would be like, this show definitely puts a picture in your head, for sure. This show is based off of a comic book series of the same name. As for the content, some of the characters and situations in the show are the same as in the comic, but for the most part, it's pretty different. The show definitely did their own thing as far as the story goes. While some characters might have died awhile ago in the comic, some still live in the show. Then there's other characters, like Darryl. Darryl isn't in the comic version at all. Not even once. He was made specifically for the show, because they loved Norman Reedus so much. So, if you read the comics before watching the show, be prepared to see some differences.
The show became so popular with its viewers that it even branched off with a spin off show, called "Fear The Walking Dead", which brings you back to the beginning of the zombie apocalypse, in the West Coast. While this show is fun to watch, it does have it's filler episodes. The kind of episodes where you'll be waiting for something to happen, but all you get is a bunch of conversation. Despite this, they always leave you wanting to know just what happens next. For those into violence and the gore aspect of zombie movies, there is definitely plenty of that going on. As the show progresses you can definitely see the different tricks and crazy make-up get better and better as the show moves on. It can get quite thrilling. If you haven't seen this yet, definitely add it to your que. It's a crazy story, for sure. I give it a 5/5!
