Blockchain Heroes - So excited

I’ve been a big fan of the The Bad Crypto Podcast since it started in 2017 – hosted by Joel Comm and Travis Wright.

As they would say - just two dudes talking crypto - What I love about this comic duo is there wiliness to have a crack at trying things out from creating the BADcoin to now creating a new digital trading card series on the WAX blockchain — Blockchain Heroes. (https://bcheroes.com/)

Blockchain Heroes will feature 50 unique superheroes inspired by top influencers, inventors and content creators throughout the blockchain community. The series, is a comedic parody of crypto-world personalities presented as superheroes.

The card designs, hero names and personalities featured will be revealed closer to the launch date, leaving us all to speculate on the real-life identities of the few names that have been dropped so far, including ‘Lady Lightning’, ‘Captain Currency’, and ‘Data Avenger’.

The narrative behind the Blockchain Heroes is superb:

Long ago, the land was free, and all were decentralized. But the power-mongering forces of darkness, The Centralizers, lulled the population under their control. The people suffered under their evil regime for eons.

Then, the enigmatic figure known only as Genesis discovered a powerful new technology – Blockchain – and unleashed it upon the world with the hope that freedom would once again settle upon the land.

The populace began to see the promise of seizing back their liberty and privacy. But just as the future became bright, Genesis mysteriously vanished!

Now devoid of a leader to wield the powers of Blockchain against the evil Centralizers, brave citizens have taken it upon themselves to rise to the challenge and harness Blockchain to free the world. This ragtag association of warriors, renegades, and specialists is known only as the Blockchain Heroes.

If that doesn’t sir your inner Crypto spirt, I don’t know what will - well actually I do – how about a healthy return on investment?

In early 2020 Comm and Wright talked about non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for their listeners on their post cast. In May 2020 trading card company Topps release the Garbage Pail Kids trading cards in digital format on the WAX blockchain. It sold out in 28 hours and collectors saw 25x returns on the secondary market. Well, that was the impetus for Comm and Wright to get creating. And boy have they done that. The cards are a lot of fun, and will also be fun to trade😉

The card set will feature the superheroes ranging in rarity from common to mythical and stored on the blockchain in the form of NFTs setting them apart from traditional collectible trading cards. Each card will be assigned a unique minting identification number, providing transparent sales and trading history, immutable ownership records, and provable scarcity.

The project is funded by a WAX Labs grant and will launch on the WAX blockchain on August 4, 2020!

So stand by your bunks, get ready for 4 August and prepare to get collecting and trading. It’s going to be a lot of fun I reckon!
