Many of the most powerful and disruptive innovations that have happened in the history of the world came upon us in often very subtle ways. They often creep upon us unannounced without blaring their horns. Often derided by the "experts" before such innovations came about they nevertheless end up proving the experts wrong.
Take the story of Orville and Wilbur Wright who were the first to fly an airplane. Their contemporaries laughed at the prospect of flying machines but those boys went ahead and changed the world with the same thing many thought was not possible.
Enter blockchain technology courtesy Satoshi Nakamoto. Nobody knows who this guy is until today or whether he even did exist. But he was the first to create the blockchain technology which was used to create the first Cryptocurrency. That cryptocurrency was born in obscurity and derided also. Often connected to criminals by the mainstream media. But over the years, bitcoin has given birth to a whole new industry that has opened up potentials for new applications of blockchain tech that will totally change the way we currently live. Blockchain tech will make possible some of the things we have often wondered if they are possible like the internet of things.
Below are some of the ways blockchain tech is changing how we live:
- Solves the problem of trust in business transactions as evidenced in the application of blockchain to money(bitcoin
and others) - Decentralised computing where people can lease r rent out their CPU processing power to a blockchain
- Smart contracts as is being done by ethereum
4)Social media like Steemit - Copyrighting and land rights
- Identity security
- Advertising
- Medical
