I woke this morning to see an article on Express Tribune titled Bitcoin start-ups in Asia take aim at remittances market. I instantly clicked on it hoping to see Zephyr, and sure enough the first mention was of Bitspark, the company that is "unbanking the banked" using Zephyr on the Bitshares blockchain.
Zephyr will work to fix the remittances problems in countries like Pakistan which has annual remittances of $20 billion.
Zephyr will not only benefit from the super fast Bitshares network, but also from its smartcoins like bitUSD.
The article also quotes the CEO George Harrap:
“Bitcoin is so much better as a mechanism to send money around the world,” said George Harrap, chief executive of Bitspark, a company that performs transfers for dozens of remittance shops in Hong Kong, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Nigeria and Ghana. “There’s a lot less overhead that you need to do.”
It is great to see startups on the Bitshares blockchain and especially Zephyr getting publicity. Bitspark is a truly committed team, and Bitshares is slowly and gradually going to get the coverage it deserves.
Beginning of the good times! :)
They are almost a year out of date with their info if they still quote him talking about bitcoin lol
lol "Bitcoin" is the only thing that rings a bell to them
