Earlier today a story from BBC broke highlighting 50 Cent's recently discovered fortune in bitcoin. While he doesn't actively invest in the cryptocurrency, the rapper received around 700 bitcoins for sales of his record Animal Ambition.
Although the price of Bitcoin has fallen recently, the bitcoins 50 Cent received were worth ~$660 in 2014 which is now worth over $10,000 per coin. This total haul leaves the rapper at a fortune of $7-8 million dollars to which 50 Cent said: "Not bad for a kid from South Side, I'm so proud of me".
It seems everyone these days has jumped on board the cryptocurrency train, even with recent regulations on exchanges.
