The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA), the world's largest open source blockchain initiative, recently added 34 new members, and thus the number of organizations entering the alliance has grown to 150.

Among the 34 new members are Mastercard and Cisco, Scotiabank and the government of Pradesh, as well as representatives from various industries including technology, government, health, marketing, insurance and energy.

With the press release issued by the EEA in connection with this event, there was a little confusion: there is no Mastercard in the list of new members, which led to misunderstanding by a number of Reddit users. However, soon the picture became clear: the management of Mastercard asked not to include the name of the organization in the press release.

Andrew Case of ConsenSys explains:

'Mastercard is indeed a new member of the EEA. They asked not to include their press release, however, on the official website of EEA Mastercard is present. Probably, they want to inform about it themselves. '

The main goals set by the EEA are confidentiality, scalability and security, given the volatility problems that Efirium is experiencing lately.
