Dear presidential candidate Tom Steyer.....

Tom, it's clear there are some good things you are doing here in California. However, let's talk about your corporations' carbon footprints first.

What are you doing or have you done to change that?

Where's the general report on all your businesses, to convince us you've done anything to curb the effects of your companies and the high net worth individuals' whose funds you manage; on the environment and climate?

What energy upgrades with CalGreen and Title 24 have you done on your real estate, those properties owned by the corporations you are affiliated with, and what leased properties have you chosen to relocate to because of their environmental considerations and upgrades to comply with Calgreen and Title 24?

I don't just mean those mandated in new construction; I am referring to upgrades on the sheer consensus of energy conservation reducing carbon footprint.
Capitalizing on smart home solutions due to the new California Calgreen and Title 24 regulations by investing in retailers, installers, or manufacturing facilities that produce these products is not the same as protecting the environment. It's a start, but far from real action.
Hellman & Friedman may not be involved in investing in manufacturing, but it would be nice to see the clear picture on what they are doing to address climate change, not just words.

Remember, these companies you represent are tied to you. Your tenure with Stanford can clearly be seen as a contribution to ideas and angel/venture capital for ideas that address these issues, but they involve profit.

SO, what have you done that doesn't involve profit? Can you show us that your hedge fund groups, high-net-worth individuals you manage funds for, and lending institutions you are associated with- are doing the same to help the environment; or that they didn't bilk mortgage borrowers out of billions of dollars, exact predatory lending practices on borrowers who were foreclosed on, and that they didn't help fuel the Wall Street mortgage crisis of 2008?

Respectfully, a citizen of California, USA- that needs truth & real research data- to formalize a basis for why I would vote for you.
