Getting back in the game

in #back4 years ago

Hey everyone!

It's been a bit over a week since I've been back home now and recovering slowly and catching up on things I've missed and getting back to dm's I wasn't able to respond to. Although I had my phone with me and was still reachable and curating I was trying to keep it to the really important things as the docs were constantly reminding me not to stress. Especially when they found out that I work "online" and figured that's what I was doing all day on the phone. Since stress seemed to be one of the things that could've lead to my recovery going slower and I thought back to the things that occured a few months ago and were really stressful and at the same time unexplainable to anyone not already in the space I figured I'd listen to their advice and try to not work so much while recovering. I've been feeling better and better and glad to be able to be back 'fulltime' with my passion that is this community, ecosystem and technology. :)

One thing I couldn't control, though, was my mind, so while I tried to stay away from Discord, Slacks and other chats I couldn't stay away from thoughts about Hive, it's future and other ideas I'd like to pursue and see if it can bring any value to the platform. Even though those things are still a bit far off as I have a lot to do here with my curation project and witness it felt good to be able to overview everything and see what I could be doing better/more effectively in the near future. I am also glad that while I've been back home I've been able to finalize the next steps of OCD and what we want to be focusing on to bring the most value to Hive and the growth of communities and at the same time I am glad to see how well they have been growing already. I can't wait to see how they will continue evolving, all the new ones that appear and bring value to the platform and make it easier for newcomers to find their right 'people' and connect with them easier and learn everything Hive that way. I think OCD will be able to help these communities along very well but more about that in another post.

I mainly wanted to post this so everyone that isn't in contact with me through chats or our Discord server is aware that I'm back and at the same time take the time to thank everyone for their kind words in my post concerning my health, thank you! I'm gonna stop talking about that now cause that post covered my situation well enough but I also want to take the time to thank the very experienced curator, skilled abuse fighter, amazing artist and incidentally my girlfriend @hiddenblade who helped me and OCD with curation during this difficult situation. Thank you. <3

Now's the time to look forward, a few things I want to mention that I've noticed doing well while I was semi-AFK are the growth of the OnChainArt and Hive Gaming community, the @leofinance community and ecosystem (great job @khaleelkazi) and of course the games that are springing to life while I was gone, @dcity, @exode and also great to see @splinterlands on Hive now. As a gamer at heart I'll always be interested in checking out blockchain games and will hopefully find the extra time to dive deeper into them soon.

There are a lot of great things happening on our chain and I am very excited to be back and see what the future brings.

PS. I also got a new phone during my hospital stay cause the last one stopped working in more ways than I could endure, thankfully I didn't go hard on getting an expensive one cause the medical bills that followed along with the Steem I lost brought me back down to earth quick. Good news is I'll be able to take some photo's that don't look completely blurred out so maybe I'll post some photography posts soon (the photo from above is from my new camera).

Immediately after reading your post, my eye fell on this message on my closed desk. I actually improvised a standing desk yesterday as the desk depicted is too low, as is my desk chair, and it gave me back pain. This message was written last November, I guesstimate, when I finally managed to take a single day off the Internet. 24 hours offline, in fact, no phone or laptop. I hardly ever manage to do so and I'm sure you get why. I recently got notified that I spent 3 years on here and I can only imagine how you feel after 4 years on chain :<)

I'm glad to hear that you're home again and hope that you're doing even better than when you wrote this post.

Try to take it easy, no matter how passionate you are about this space, we often tend to prioritize other stuff over our health. I guess the past months have made many of us extra aware of that.

Here's a photo I took this week near my local restaurant, with some healing vibes ( nature's blue and green always do the trick ).

Have a great day! ✨

Glad to have you back. I felt lucky that my beginning on the Hive occurred at the same time you came back. You seem to be very dedicated to it. That's fantastic!

4 years and counting now, can't stay away from this place but might take a break once it finally reaches a bigger userbase. :)

4 years of passionate work. Impressive. The community needs more individuals with your skills to generate ideas and moving forward :)

Weeelcome! I bet during anesthesia your dreams were about Hive hahaha
"in health and DISEASE until death separate you"
Thank you for your commitment!

woke up to being morphined I think and then slept the rest of the day and missed out on all the fun :( :P

Glad you are back acid! Don't push your self too hard during recovery, main thing is to get well. I'm also glad most of the games I play is on Hive! Definitely exciting times

Yeah can't wait to see what else gets going here. :)

It's my first comment on your blog. Nice to meet and greet you.
The spectacular photo. I hope the sun continues to shine on you and your health improves, so that you continue to contribute to Hive.

That's great news, man. For the time being, I would like to join the medical recommendations, we know about your commitment to the community, but it is necessary to resume the tasks with a gradual pace so that everything works as it should.

Of course, in a matter of minutes a lot of things happen in our chain, which will be for 2 or a few days. The best thing is that, in context, good things are outpacing those on the other side. Your statement adds several positive points to the cause.

Go ahead, my friend, continue unhurriedly but without pause. We need you 100%. If you need something, just say the word.

Pd: the image is dreamy

Wow! Great capture from your new phone/camera! Glad to hear you're home again and recovering well. Good idea to stay away from stressful things whilst you were focusing on healing - hope that things ocntinue to move in a positive direction for you!

Welcome back bro!

Things are looking bright! Recover well dude. :) In case you missed it, @splinterlands has been selected into 5th season of Entrepreneurs Lab by Ubisoft :D https://news.ubisoft.com/en-us/article/2HsAMJ278vuJT1HIY7TkSc/ubisoft-entrepreneurs-lab-kicks-off-its-fifth-season

oh yeah saw that in a tweet! ^^ wish i still had my cards though. :D

Love that image! How the sun was behind the trees and how perfect the clouds were. <3 And lol your gf is nice can I get her number?

Hmm maybe if i get some nudes first.

¬‿¬

It's fine your new cellphone it's better than my hahahaha , welcome back @acidyo . Nice that your girlfriend supported you, many women I know don't do that.

Yeah she's pretty nice. ;3

Welcome back!

Wishing you continued and complete recovery!

Really appreciating OnChainArt - my 15 year old daughter is new to Hive and enjoys posting her work there, and in the sketching community.

I had to LOL at your "the last one stopped working in more ways than I could endure" comment. 🤣 My Samsung Galaxy screen dead spots expanded badly after 1 raindrop this week 😭 and there's no way I can fork out the $1000+ for a new one. The angels were on my side (as always) and the fixit-guy-who-wasn't happened to have a second hand version of exactly the same phone with a perfect screen. I'm picking it up this morning.

Take it slow and hope your bounce back is like all good crypto bounce curves should be.

Aws thanks! Nice, i like that community as well and might post there in the near future cause my drawings are far from professional. Glad to hear you'll get your screen fixed!

haha. no screen "fix". Samsung Thailand won't service phones bought out of country, and this one was purchased in Seoul, Korea. Booooo Samsung. I have located a second hand version of the same model Galaxy Note with a still perfect screen.

It's making me realize how much crypto and Hive are dependent on people having access to a decent device. Not to mention electricity and wifi.

Glad to see you are back home and strong enough to start posting again.

All that I can say here is remember your recovery conditions, so no nude shots please.
That can wait for later lol.

Welcome back Acid!

I am glad you are doing well buddy. Try to come back to the normality in a slow way. Dcity is super addictive so be careful

Haha thankfully I'm up to my neck in bills at the moment so won't be tempted to throw any crypto at it right now. :D

gosh :( I know the feeling. I send you a big hug buddy!

oh .. great to have recovered and come back here! welcome. I like the picture you took with your new phone. and I will wait for new ones. Wow. say your girlfriend is that sweet woman. ! you are a lucky man :). have a nice day..

Getting out of the hospital is always a major victory. Like being out of a prison or flying to the moon lol. I dislike hospitals but sometimes things have to get done, health is super important.

I'm glad you're better. I didn't even know you were sick, though I did miss seeing you around. So sorry about what happened with the stolen STEEM. A lot of us really tried to get that to go in your favor. Be well.

Thanks, yeah... would be nice if it gets resolved while they still have some value left. :p

Happy to see you back in the game.

Don’t put too much pressure on yourself and we’re all in this together.

Thanks, I'd want to be back to 100% as soon as possible but I realize that can only happen by taking things slow now.

slow and steady wins the race

glad you are better and don't push yourself too much!!

One thing I couldn't control, though, was my mind, so while I tried to stay away from Discord, Slacks and other chats I couldn't stay away from thoughts about Hive, it's future and other ideas I'd like to pursue and see if it can bring any value to the platform

ahh i do that as well so i get you! we are just too cool we have to admit it :P

Good to have you back and looking forward to seeing what your phone produces you produce with that new phone. Take it slow, regain your health then rock on.

Prayers for your good health. As many has already said, take your time to look after your body as well.
Looking forward to see your photography. ;)

Welcome @acidyo I hope you get stronger soon. You really got a nice camera there hope to see your new pics soon.

Welcome back

Good news is I'll be able to take some photo's that don't look completely blurred out so maybe I'll post some photography posts soon

Don't leak any of that front camera action. :D

Maybe if I want the attention, do a lil Kim Kardashian move on chain.

a classy upskirt shot.

Listen to the doctors, research has shown they're sometimes correct.

Welcome back. New follower here.

Thanks, trying. :)

Welcome to Hive, how are you liking it so far?

Nice photo.. welcome back.. I have been following your health tales and I am glad you are back. As a matter of fact i did some research on it.

Anyways, glad to have you back

Nice photo. I take it your new camera is a new phone too? Did you crop it after or is your phone set to crop? Usually the mobily sensors are 2:3, but have a setting to crop it to fit the really wide phone screens.

Think I tried the "full" resolution, photo is unedited/cropped.

My guess is that's full screen resolution and not highest resolution. I was doing the same thing forever cause it looks bigger when taking the photo.

There is probably a resolution setting that will keep the L same but make H more...it will be higher so it won't fit ur full screen anymore and appear smaller.

Screenshot_20200626165134_Camera.jpg

Thanks, need to test it out! Honestly haven't fiddled with the camera much yet except sending my gf some selfies to show her how yellow I still was. and that was with the front cam, lol.

Simpson's style sexting...nice!

Ya! And the other day I needed some new clothes so I went to a shop called Springfield, I felt like home!

Simpson's style sexting

lols.

STEEM was a ship in rough waters for a very long time, but it seems that HIVE is not in Grow-to-Survive mode.

Get well first! It will be worth it in the long run so take it easy :D Good luck!

Oh my, how did I miss that?
I hope you will back in your feet in no time, thanks for updating us and be safe...!

Welcome back! :-) Actually I think this may be the first post of yours that I have read ;-) But I just wanted to add my voice to the crowd of well-wishers. Nothing more important than your health and well-being.

When I want to relax, and really relax, I stick on some headphones and listen to a meditation on the Calm app. It works well for me. Ten minutes where I float and won't be disturbed. Longer ones and meditative music if I want longer. Maybe one day there'll be a blockchain version? :-)
