RE: Introducing SteemAustralia.org

in #australia6 years ago

Hmmm...

OK, to clarify.

I join. I log on to the website - presumably a Wordpress site, seeing as you're using Steempress plugin.

I then add content onto that website, and its published on Steemit by the @steemaustralia account.

Any rewards from that post would then be received by @steemaustralia account.

So, as the original creator of that content, what is the benefit for me to post content for this account to be rewarded, rather than just posting it on my own account and claiming the rewards.

Can you explain this please?

Sort:

Well, what you need to do, if the post is PROMOTING STEEM IN AUSTRALIA or PROMOTING STEEM IN A WAY THAT RELEVANT TO AUSTRALIA:

Post it on your wall.

Then if you have registered as an Aussie Steem Promoter or BETTER YET applied to Promo Steem to become a STEEM AMBASSADOR (where your avatar will be added to the header on @steemaustralia)

You should write a short intro with the link and PROMOTE YOUR POST, all rewards go towards the Guild which is for rewarding Posts promoting Steem.

As is stated on the site under Promo Steem.

;)

I've been to the site, I understand that the website is to promote Steem in Australia.

But if I write a post here on Steem.... then the audience will already be Steem users, so kinda pointless (or at least already preaching to converted ;-) )

So, according to what I'm reading here, I'm meant to log on to steemaustralia.org, add some content, which will then get published onto Steem, the rewards of which will go to SteemAustralia.

Presumably then, any STEEM/SBD that @steemautralia has is then used to promote or upvote posts.... and by whom? Like, is this account now another curation account? Will it only upvote Aussie-made posts, or only upvote posts by those who join SteemAust?

I'm just not sure I understand the logic of posts within Steemit, promoting Steemit.....

PS: I'm not criticising the initiative, just trying to understand what it is exactly.

It's not posts within Steem only, once you are an (Australian) Steem Ambassador, or as is stipulated on the site "An Aussie Steem Promoter" you will be posting on www.steemaustralia.org the fact that it gets automatically posted to the blockchain is a plus.

You could go and check out the purpose of the Promo-Steem Guild and how it works and how it all helps to reward those who promote Steem in their country.

;)

So I go and post stuff on the website to help promote Steem in Oz.
Do I get rewards for that? What I'm understanding so far is that the purpose of all this is to be rewarded for promoting Steem out there in the real world.

And as a content creator in Steemit, you'll only upvote/curate if I use the promo-steam tag or the steem-australia tag?

Basically you have the gist of things, but many posts that haven't used those tags have been upvoted by Promo-Steem.

But yeah, we now have an Aussie in Promo-Steem, yours truly.

So the idea is to build on what already exists and works, no need to "reinvent the wheel".

Plus Promo-Steem is all about synergy and helping those who devote time to promoting Steem.

It works, pretty good too.

At the next Steem Fest, I am sure there will be a lot of talk about it all from and by the founders, like what was the case at the last Steem Fest.

It really is a great grassroots initiative that WORKS!

A-ha! Sorry, when I read the original post, it seemed like the emphasis was on creating content to go on the steemaustralia website....

Well, it is a tool to be used by those who jump onboard the Promo Steem initiative.

For us Aussies that is.

All checked out and given the thumbs up by those who need to give it the thumbs up in Promo Steem.

;)

Plus I've already decentralized it in a big way by asking for and allowing Aussies who are Steem Witnesses to use it freely when appropriate.

Plus anyone else who wishes to use it constructively for the purposes of promoting Steem.

As no Aussies have been a part of PromoSteem to date, that is why I have added the "Aussie Steem Promoters" title, as a way to get the ball rolling, without all the red tape!
