I have a pretty large post in the works about my experiences with the game-changing Assassin's Creed Origins. I was gonna finish it, but the next in the series - Assassin's Creed Odyssey - has now consumed me in its maw.
It is a very, very pretty game.
It sure is. I haven't played much of the Assassin's Creed games but I have enjoyed what I did play. My guess is that they keep getting better and better.

The newest two - Origins and Odyssey - turned the franchise into more of an RPG. Origins added gear management and skill trees, and Odyssey improved on those and added in dialogue trees where decisions have a lasting impact on the game. Both also make the game less of a 'press X to kill' auto kill feature, making it so that you could very easily die, even on normal mode, by being too quick to act and not paying attention.
