The plot continues from the very moment where the second part ended. It's good that before this we were shown a brief retelling of the previous series, otherwise I would have completely forgotten. If in the first two parts they dragged the cat for one place, then in the third they decided to open all the cards and at a gallop across Europe trying to close all the storylines. Everything is very chaotic and very quickly develops, while they pile up the plot with new and new story lines. Some they manage to close, some do not.
I have a series of films about Gogol and there are two main claims. Firstly - this is a series that was allowed to go to the movies. This is not a film, there is no whole history. The entire first part is an attempt to throw hooks for subsequent parts. The viewer initially does not know what is going on like that. As a result, after watching the feeling of porridge, so much happens, but nothing has its end. It would be more logical to show the TV series first, then to the cinema. Logic in this there. The creators went the other way, they first showed three parts in the movie, and two more series will already be shown on TV.
If the spectator in the first part observes "fishing" (as the creators throw hooks), then further these hooks all hang and hang. It does not work that way. The viewer who goes to the cinema wants to see the whole story. But there can not be one whole story in the 8-series series with such a huge number of storylines that either do not end in any way, or end as stupidly as it was with Viy. Why the hell is he even needed, but for one reason - Gogol wrote about him. And it does not matter that he does not need a fucking story. At the same time, it's all shown in the movies!
The second claim is that spectators are deceived by the insolent way, showing the teaser of the next series. In the first part, entitled "Gogol: The Beginning", we are shown the appearance of a dead friend of the protagonist and the viewer on the idea should peck and come to watch the second part. I looked and noticed the stupidity, they say it's funny, they just killed the hero, and in the next series his appearance appears. But the creators went even further. They tried to lure the audience with this method, but in the end, in the next part of this hero was not. Just was not! We show it only after viewing the second part in the third teaser. Just think about it. The creators themselves understand that in the second part they can not show anything that could interest the audience and therefore they demonstrate the appearance of the hero, which in the second part will not be.
In the third part, as in all others, there are plot holes, nonsense. There are many questions: what, how, why, why ... H Half of the questions we get answers, half is not. A lot of unnecessary story twists. Just twists for the sake of twist. For the last 30 minutes, about five twists in a row, one goes into another, and the third crosses out the two previous ones and so on.
However, there are pluses. Firstly the film has a very good atmosphere, which allows you to dive into that time. Costumes, talking, village - all very natural. Also, the creators no longer try to scare you, they removed these horrible and badly made-up screamers, which you can not frighten. Good music, good acting. Finally, Gogol ceased to faint! If this TV series were on TV, I would probably have a couple of times less claims, go. In general, it is clear that the actors tried. Annoyed, except that Sergei Menshikov - a "Sherlock" on the minimum, but this is not his fault, such is the scenario.
My score for the film is 5 out of 10, I do not recommend going to the movies. All the same very soon the film will be shown on TV. Thank you for attention!
