Breathing New Life Into Old Artwork...
While cleaning up the hoards of old files on my computer I found a few copies of old pieces that were left to gather virtual dust. This lil' guy, a devil in disguise, was a personal & fan favourite of mine back when I went under another username many iterations of my art persona and social media accounts ago.

The original piece was drawn in Micron pens, and Faber-Castell brush pens. For a long time I preferred markers as my medium of choice and did a lot of cartoonish graphic illustrations. However I was never as pleased with them once I coloured them in! Every artist knows that age old curse. I still love working with pens and inks but now days as my art has evolved I mostly work with a black & white colour scheme for such drawings. Its best to keep things simple sometimes, and stop while you are ahead.
This year however I went out and purchased a used Wacom tablet and I have really been making an effort to learn the art of digital drawing. Though most of the illustrations I've posted to to accompany my many poems are finished traditional pieces, one recent piece as linked below is the first proud accomplishment I've made in my progress in digital painting.

So lately I've been doing more and more paintings digitally. Keeping in mind how I can also transfer my black & white illustration style to a digital format. It sure saves on busting out so many pens! They aren't cheap and the plastic adds up in the landfill!
Without further digression, here he is the updated version of my this 2017 piece, "Wrecked" which I have retitled "Lights Out!"
