Hey everybody!
I did a few zombie illustrations for this years Inktober and decided to start giving them some color! I haven’t done a water color painting in a while, so I’m pretty excited to start sharing these with you guys!
I couldn’t decide on a color scheme at first, so I apologize for the bits that look muddy. That’s what happens when you get excessive layering different colors on top of each other, wouldn’t recommend it. But overall I think I liked how it turned out.
Say hello to one of the newer members to the Nau family! Lydia’s other eye had finally fallen out. That’s alright though, she still had her button nose and curly locks. And of course she’ll always have those high cheekbones of hers!
After admiring her beauty in black and white, I finally decided to give her some color! I had drawn her on a piece of water color paper just in case I decided to do so, and I’m happy I did! She’s much happier now. Can’t you tell?
And what do you guys think? Do you like her better with her new rosy cheeks? Or do you prefer her in classic black and white? Let me know! I’lol be recoloring her digitally to make some awesome stickers for you all. It’ll be my first sticker so expect some giveaways when I’m finished!!
Take care everybody! I hope you make it a wonderful day!
Cool zombie.
holy crap that water color is legit. I didn't even know you could make those kinds of color blends happen with water color whenever I try it everything bleeds everywhere and I stop impulse buying shit from amazon. I def prefer color people might disagree but god damn she pops at least off my screen.
Wow thank you very much!! Maybe it’s the kind of watercolor paper or paints you’ve tried. I’m using Canson with Gansai Tambi watercolor paints and they work pretty alright. The pallet I’ve got has this wicked green color which is what I used for the base color on the skin and I’m loving it.
Wow I would like such a tattoo. Very good job, @ashleynau!
Oooo neat idea! And thank you!
I like the color. The red in the teeth marks in the arm really pop to me, and I love that detail because I know instantly how that creepy, doughy, rotten flesh would feel if I touched it ewww hahaha.
Eeeeek! Now I’m imagining it too!!!
I prefer her in color. Unless you were doing a remake of Night of the Living Dead which should always be watched in black and white.
Where are you going to have the stickers made?
I’ll be using Sticker Mule for that. I’ve seen a few examples of how their stuff works out and it’s pretty cool!
Cool. First I've heard of that company.
I just checked out the video on their website and it looks like high quality stickers.
My thoughts exactly!
Nice Work!!!
Thank you!
