RE: One day I'll get it right.

in #art7 years ago

Hello, I'm trying as much as I can, and all I can say it's been a roller coaster. I got like 3 posts that have made some SBDs, and mostly a good number of followers, but I wouldn't call it a community yet, not by far. I've kept posting because I believe in what's happening here at Steemit. I believe that creating decent, good and excellent content should help make a living and not just provide value for a website, such as what happens with most social media. Art has always been a part of most of us, even those not very exposed to it would try to express themselves when given a piece of charcoal and a surface where they may draw. Now, in all honesty what got me to draw every day and ignited my passion was a German movie. I don't know how has that movie been accepted around the world, but it was Im winter ein Jahr. I had tried to draw and paint before, but it hadn't been even close to a hobby. Reading and playing video games had gotten me interested, also visiting museums, but it all seemed so far away from me. Like in a different plane of reality, somewhere ethereal where I just couldn't imagine to reach. The character played by Josef Bierbichler, has a line where he says that most of his life he has been an spectator, a witness more than a man of action, that resonated in me so much, since I believe I have mostly been that. The process of creating something where there was previously nothing and what it involves as expressed with the movie, "landed" the ethereal and heaven like images of art and its history for me, making them reachable. I saw the movie around early November of 2011 and I was at a pivotal time of my life, having lost a lot at that time and not really being able to know where my life was going. I haven't gotten any proper training, and will look to get some this year, but back then I went for the internet, books, pdfs, anything that could help me get information on how to draw and paint. I want to believe that after so many years, I've reached a decent level, and I am no longer a beginner though I'm far from being a professional. I took a look at your blog too, and started following you. You've made me realized that I should write more about this things, even if it means just a few posts that some bots will vote up XD. regards.
P.S. Yes, I'd like to hold an interview if you see it helpful for both of us.

Hey @aaalfonz - thank you so much for your insights. I feel like we're on the same wavelength...I started for the same reasons but the frustration of "not getting heard" due to a "lack" of community here let me take a break from november until new year. I guess this platform is still very young so we have to work hard to earn the fruits of a prospering community in the future. Regarding the movie - i am german, but never heard of it hahahah ...i will check it out. And regarding the interview, do you have steemit.chat? If yes I would send you some questions there that you could write an answer to ... I would then transcribe it to an article which i will show you before posting. From what I read so far there are some pretty interesting points in your above statement that I would love to go more in detail. Anyways, let me know, so that we can start on steemit chat (or email)

I've replied to you on steemit chat, though e-mail might be a lot easier for me.
