... it goes without saying that you need to dive right in the crowd and be part of the massive flow of people on the intersection. When the lights turn green and you start walking towards the other side - diagonally, of course, as fearless adventurer - you realize that there are hundreds of people coming straight at you and you don't really have any space to sidestep as there are hundreds of people around you, too. While I'm internally preparing myself for some bumping and pushing the first people from across are passing me and I realize that I'm not being touched, not even slightly. Even though I'm tightly surrounded by people which are all moving, if not rushing. Amazing! I guess this is only possible in a country where people put the needs of others before their own. So considerate and polite, the Japanese. Don't you wish your central station at home during rush hour was like this, too?
