Introduction
After winning the semifinals against @bigmeat, I had to face @kodieamos for the title of the @steemleague #2 - The Goths!
I beat him 2-0 in the last round, so I was quite confident. But it should get way closer this time...
Game 1 - Arabia
In the first game I started by setting up a nice economy, before starting to pump Militia out of two barracks.

Meanwhile I was scouting a lot - the huge points difference probably comes from me using sheep to scout as well and @kodieamos not doing so...
The second I reached Feudal Age I developed my Militia into Man-at-Arms and started to raid his economy.
I didn't kill much - however my harassment was enough, that I could reach the Castle Age first. And then I did, what I do best - drop a forward castle!
Even though he tried everything to stop it, it went up. And with the castle, he felt like he had no chance anymore and resigned.
Game 2 - Continental
In the second round we played on the map Continental - two islands connected by a small land bridge. Of course a dock was mandatory here to get extra free food from fish. At first I was a little shocked, since I docked in a little pond. However I was lucky - the shups could go over the little land part and reach the big ocean with all the good deepwater fish (which actually collects faster then shorefish).
With that extra food I could go up to Feudal Age pretty soon. And that meant that I was able to tower my wall at the land brigde.
After securing the land connection, I wanted to land @kodieamos again. But unluckily for me, he learned from last weeks mistakes and discovered my "secret" landing - and killed it :(
So my plan changed to dropping castles again. However he knew that already and destroyed two of the shortly after they were built.
Since they were my last defences, I had to resign to the army of Huskarl's he made. A few archers had no chance against them.
Game 3 - Highland
So for the first time in this series, I had to go into a game three. But I knew what I had to do - be more aggressive again. Giving @kodieamos the time to build an army was for sure a huge mistake in game 2.
If you remember Highland from the last match reports, you know its a land divided by a river with a small walkthrough area. But unlike the other games I didn't go for a defensive wall - No, I went offensive and sneaked a villager on his side this time!
And then I played really offensive. At first I Tower-rushed with my sneaked villagers.

Than I attacked with Crossbowman
and finished it with an offensive castle once again!
Thx @kodieamos for the great games, it was a pleasure! And way closer than last time!
so many memories xD
great tactic, always gotta patrol for sneaky villagers, really sucks to be on the wrong side of that one xD
What about joining the @steemleague and getting those memories back up ;)
This is astonishing. I haven't played AOE in around 6 years yet at the same time recall it like it was yesterday. Is this amusement still exceptionally prominent? Happy to see it is still around
This is amazing. I haven't played AOE in about 15-20 years but still remember it like it was yesterday. Glad your strategy finally prevailed. Is this game still very popular? Glad to see it is still around
The game is still very popular. New content is created frequently and the latest expansion was released just one year ago. There are plenty of players on Steam, more than 4.5 million people own the game :-)
Very nice @theaustrianguy ...upvoted...bless
Nice games!
Seems I may need to watch out for you when the next Steem league starts. ;)
Have you ever considered AoE III for a contest :) ?
