Some good news to share with bloggers on Steemit

in #steemit8 years ago

Starting tomorrow you will be seeing a nice improvement in payouts on posts, that will continue until all is back to normal.
No, I did not do the math on this, but others did. You also need to visit your Steemit wallet page more often now to claim your rewards.

Steemit reward pool is full, and ready to start raining again:

Vandeberg: At the time of the hardfork all content (posts and comments) had their payout time set to the maximum of their creation time plus seven days or their current payout time. The small amount of content that was paid out this last week were posts on their second payout that were going to get paid within the next week. Some posts in their first payout are getting paid now as the most popular posts can have payout times 48 hours after their creation. With the hardfork, those payout times would have been 5 days after. We should see more and more new content getting paid in the coming days.

I have had a few claim buttons today, been a lovely surprise, Looks like things are back on the way up again :)

I also have the reward claim button. I don't know what to do with it now. :)

Press claim. :)

:)))))) Thank you @karenb54

You are welcome @bontonstory :)

How often is it advisable to visit the wallet in order not to miss a reward?

about 28800 times a day, that will account for every block from which a reward can come in :D
But seriously once a day is good enough, you can claim multiple rewards per visit and as far as I know they do not expire.

Your rewards will accumulate in your rewards balance indefinitely, and do not expire. They'll sit there forever until you can claim them into your normal balance. Separating the rewards balance and the spendable balance was simply a backend technical scaling change so that the raw blockchain data can be processed faster in the future; 100% of your rewards still remain yours. :)

Although technically I believe the reward pool will not be full till hardfork + 30 days but it is great to see the rewards gaining in size

Yep that seems to be the consensus.

Thanks for the heads-up! I have claimed a few of them already and it seems to be undergoing some sort of processing before being accessed entirely... Thanks for all the information. I was really curious about this. Namaste :)

Thanks for the update. Does anyone know what happens if rewards are never claimed? For example if a member goes inactive and never checks their wallet?

Yes - I know it and wanted to write a post tomorrow - if you bear with me until tomorrow - would be cool @hanshotfirst - i had some talks and would like to add more into a post but do not wanna rush this now as it is late here and i wanted to leave the office finally at 9pm - but to say in advance no worries on claiming

Cool. Sounds good. Thanks!

You are welcome @hanshotfirst and thanks to @sneak for the help already

As @sneak explained this already below I only added the explanation I received yesterday in a post highlighting the new community / marketing function here on steemit - do not wanna be guilty of link spam so not posting the link here lol - but you can find it on my profile - Namaste @hanshotfirst @joseph

Same thing that happens to a normal wallet balance - they just sit there out of circulation. The rewards balance is in your account, and the "claim" verb is a little bit misleading. It's more of a "transfer" from your rewards balance to your liquid/usable balance.

Thanks for taking the time to answer this. Thinking of it as a "transfer" definitely helps me to understand it better. Thank you!

I am assuming it stays in reward pool.

No, the rewards in your reward balance are yours, they're already out of the pool. They stay yours indefinitely until you hit claim. It's just another balance in your own wallet.

Good to know man!!!!!!!!!!!

That really is good news :D

I am just concerned with my 1-cent power... I hope I don't lose it.

no need to worry about your one cent, if you lose it or they take it away from you let me know, I will lend you mine.

that's good to hear! :) according to comments. I need to wait another 3 weeks to get back to normal (suppose the experiment is still on and price stable).

I wouldn't mind to lend me half cent 🙄

I think this is actually a bit misleading. If I understand correctly, the reward pool is now using a 30-day average to calculate the reward pool. The number used to was set to zero on "hardfork day".
So, after the first day, we would have a number that reflects a 1-day average, on the second day, 2 days out of 30 reflected in the calculation
so right now we would be at about 7-days into building the 30-day average. Unless I am missing something, tomorrow we would be at 8/30 ... Am I missing something @joseph?

I will explain it tomorrow.

Sweet, thank you joseph.

Yippy can't wait @joseph I will follow you

Steemit reward pool is full

As far as I know it is not, and it won't be completely filled until F-day + 30. Could you check your facts? I'm sure you wouldn't want to spread misleading information, and I would like to get some solid information.

Hello @joseph. Thanks for the post but I have just checked my wallet and despite blogging as normal over the past week I don't seem to have anything at all. Any help please?? Thanks in advance

Nice! Finally I can continue making 10 cents a day! That way I will only need to make 1000 high-quality posts a day in order to make $100, which is my goal. Thanks! Cool! :D

Thanks for the info!

Is it any better now? I would not know yet. PS: I will be writing about my home country, South-Africa, so any followers welcome.

Excellent News!

This is excellent to hear! As a new user, trying to understand this all is complicated to say the least, so it's nice to see things are normalizing.

@joseph good to see the pool refreshing.

Good news must be resteemed )))

Exciting news. I am back after a mini hiatus and have so many ideas for solid blogs stored up in the ole' noggin. ^_^

Really good news. :D See you @joseph

Good news is always warmly welcomed!

Awesome news!

Sorry for the "newbie" question...but can anybody please help me figure out how long the "claim" stays open for collecting? and how do we determine when it will show up for comments or resteems, etc?

Thank you and Bright Blessings!

the claim is just another account of yours it's like a savings account your rewards stay there until you withdraw into your other account. Please read sneak comments on this post

Rain or shine, I'm staying on Steemit!

Why Am I not seeing a trending post that have more value steem dollars? Oh wait... Hype has ended.
