THE CATALAN QUESTION (Translated with Google)
One thing is democracy, and another is to do whatever comes out of your eggs.
It seems to me that this question can be synthesized in that sentence, but I will curry a little more the post.
Being a political issue a bit tricky, I warn anyone who is susceptible to refrain from reading it, I am aware that when talking about politics can generate unnecessary tension, and in no case that is my intention.
However I think this subject is important enough to be talked about. And that's what I'm going to do.
For a start I will say that I do not believe in states, since they are ultimately an invention, neither in the nations nor in the nationalities, all this in my opinion are inventions, which in many cases justify wars, confrontation, racism, etc.
What happened in Catalonia 1-O in my opinion was a paripé, which according to Google dictionary means deception or pretending to save face or to get what you want.
All this on the part of some oligarchs (who have always been there) who undoubtedly seek to extract a political return by taking advantage of a difficult situation, in which people begin to believe the first thing that is said to them.
People will tell you that there was a crackdown on a democratic act, and go ahead that I do not believe in democracy, we have seen a thousand examples where democracy is corrupted, and examples of a misuse of it.
Of course I will not defend the violence (which there was), but neither an illegal act where a constitution is passed by the triumphal arch, both parties were aware of the problem and both did what they promised, some to hold a fraudulent referendum and others try to repress it by force, both sides are to blame.
Nevertheless many people proclaim a Catalan republic, like a Spanish republic, and I will say something with which many will not agree, but we already live in a republic. Yes, it is true that there is a monarchy, and a king, who sometimes gives speeches ... but what is the republic? According to Mrs. Wikipedia:
('Public', 'the public', and the public, 'public'), 2 in a broad sense, is a political system that is based mainly and totally on the rule of law (constitution).
No more no less!
Curiously, the only thing I hear the Spanish government say is that we have to respect the law and the constitution, by definition the government of Spain is applying the same as would be applied in any republic, and ignorant people call that oppression and authoritarianism while dreaming of "Republics" that could only exist in his imagination.
But all this is part of a victim discourse, in which any nationalism of the world is sustained, where an oppressor is always necessary, an enemy from which to liberate himself. In that line you can hear repeated affirmations to satiety as Spain robs us, outside Spain we would be richer, etc.
But not only is economic discourse used as a basis, but the manipulation of history, and appeal to feelings, because this is mainly a matter of feelings, where hope is given to a population promising a better life.
I am disgusted to see masses of people who are manifested by a political, identity or nationalist question, whatever the country may be. And with this I say that the fault is not only of the politicians, also of all those fanatics, chicks, naive manipulables that believe them and they follow the game. And of course I also put in the bag the rest of Spain, who even knowing the historical problems we came from, did not do anything at all. In fact it was on the contrary, Spain gave away skills such as education or security forces, and even many are surprised of what happens.
We are all guilty, and Spain is guilty of leaving the Catalans in the hands of corrupt sinners, who did what they wanted for decades, now that no one is surprised.
All this in the end so that the declaration of independence lasted 8 seconds before suspending it ... now Carles Puigdemont is not only seen by a sector as a traitor to the motherland, but also as a traitor to independence.
I think it is clear that it is playing with the hope of at least half (or almost) of the Catalans, some images are very revealing.
It is a shame to see how it creates a situation of rupture and confrontation devised by some oligarchs, which in the end always has negative repercussions on normal people, but it gives me more pain to observe how many people become so fanaticized to see that they are being taken hair, as many people are fooled because it gives them laziness to think for themselves, to have their own criteria, or just bother to know all points of view before forming an opinion.
This is valid for Spaniards, Catalanists, etc.
I will end by saying that you should never endorse an initiative devised by a group of politicians, this is something that never ends well. And this whole thing, much to my regret, I do not think it will end well.
Regards!
