I am back at it - Writing Podcasting Hiving (+Leo)

It just happened, like the flip of the switch and I'm back in the game. I was feeling particularly energetic a few days ago and it just led me straight to the computer to get some shit done.

I got straight into editing my third novella. I finished 30% of editing in the first day. It's a short one, about 60 pages but it's very very dense, a psychedelic story where the protagonist slips in and out of a dream state. It's a little tricky to keep everything consistent, but I was at it all day.

I talked to the cover artist again the next day, an Indonesian NFT artist and he agreed to do the cover! :-D I'm excited, I love his work.

After that I was on the way home and a friend told me I should focus on audio-only podcasting instead of the +video podcasts I've been doing on youtube. I resisted for a bit and in the middle of it I said "Hey can we record the rest of this conversation for a podcast" and so we did and just like that I got right back into season 2 of Untangled Knots.

I had been focused on youtube because the algorithms can REALLY help you reach more people and there is no need to advertise products yourself in order to earn money. But the video aspect has been causing me to put off making new episodes and has been rather distracting, it's not what I'm passionate about.

So, the day after that I started to upload old podcast episodes to Spotify and iTunes and I will go down the list from there and connect everything else through RSS from now.

I am already ready to start recording new episodes ASAP, so I will see if I can record another one before the weekend is over and start getting the new episodes up by next week!

BTW, I just have to brag a bit (I hope he doesn't mind). Nikolai from Resident Evil 3 was reading my book on the train this morning. He's actually the friend I was talking to about podcasting vs. youtube. He'll be the guest on my next podcast, although we didn't take much about being Nikolai at all, more about the independent creators grind as he is a photographer and thinking of starting his own podcast.

Other topics in season 2 will include: being an influencer in Africa, making deep connections while backpacking, polyamory, more on ayahuasca and the entities people encounter, trying to live without money, living overseas

Hope you come along for the ride. Of course everything will be up on Hive platforms too but listening on the major platforms helps us reach new people and I talk about Hive on the podcast pretty often.

I just discovered Leo Threads and talked to the guys over there about Cross Culture collaborating with threads, so it looks like we might be getting some LEO delegation. It comes at the perfect time because @starstrings01 messaged me about getting back to holding a monthly contest for the community. So we are going to have two events coming up at cross culture.

I like where Leo is moving with threads. The more they open the platform up to non-finance content, the more you’ll see me over there. Regardless of how you feel about Leo Khal has been one of the few people at hive who knows how to mobilize people for a project. If he can find ways to prevent threads from becoming 80% post promotion and creates a separate app for it it’s gonna be pretty solid! It’s already really fun and a great way to fish out new hivers to interact with.

Tomorrow I will get back to editing the novella and schedule some new podcast recordings. :-D

I feel like I'm back, not quite full force yet, but this is an unprecedented amount of energy for my creative projects so I'm excited!
