HOW I TURNED MY M50 INTO A FULL FRAME

Fam, this device right here was a game changer when I first got my M50, and is probably the main reason I still have it. See, the M50 is an APSC sensor, which is cropped. It means it doesn't display the full frame of the image projected by the lens. It also means the focal length of the lens has to be recalculated in my head. It's find for most people, but since I came from the film era, I really like 50mm to be 50mm, not 75mm or 80mm. This device fixed that.

The Viltrox EF-EOS M2 mount adapter is a device that allows users to mount Canon EF-mount lenses onto a camera with the EOS M2 mount. This adapter allows for full electronic communication between the lens and the camera, including autofocus and aperture control, and also allows the aperture to be adjusted manually via the aperture ring.

It is made of high-quality aluminium and has a durable metal construction. The adapter also has a built-in chip that can automatically confirm lens information and update the camera's firmware. It is a great option for those who own Canon EF-mount lenses and want to use them with their EOS M2 camera, without having to invest in new lenses.

A speedbooster mount adapter is a type of adapter that is designed to increase the effective aperture of a lens by reducing the focal length and increasing the amount of light that enters the camera. The Viltrox EF-EOS M2 Speedbooster is a version of the Viltrox EF-EOS M2 mount adapter that includes a built-in speedbooster function.

This means that when a Canon EF-mount lens is mounted on an EOS M2 camera using this adapter, the effective aperture of the lens will be increased by approximately one f-stop, allowing for lower-light photography and a shallower depth of field. Additionally, the speedbooster function also increases the field of view of the lens, effectively reducing the focal length by 0.71x. It is a great option for those who want to increase the versatility of their Canon EF-mount lenses with their EOS M2 camera.

So there you go, my M50 is pretty much a full frame camera now :)

Peace & Love,

Adé

Yeah this is a great technology. Unfortunately there are no focal reducers for the same system or at least for sony e mount to sony e mount :D

Right? You'd think this would be a no-brainer. There are so many things like that that would be a huge market if they did it.
Finally, now in 2023, I saw a microphone on Amazon that is interview style, but connects directly to the iPhone without going through multiple systems first. This was already possible many years ago, but nobody bothered to do it. Now the microphone is one of the hottest selling things in the world and I'm sure now we will see one from Shure and Rode. They could have made it before, but just didnt. I'm happy for the Chinese company (probably somebody that saw the obvious opportunity and created the design and sent it to China to be made). I hope they get very rich haha.
