Other Niche Communities Curation Report #1024

OCD's support is expanding!

Hello everyone! This is the 1024th compilation post of OCD's latest curation efforts. It has been known that OCD has been supporting leading niche communities under its Community Incubation Program. However, there are still a lot of other niche communities not supported by OCD. This curation initiative will help in supporting those communities.

This newest curation effort aims to encourage authors to post in appropriate communities even if those communities are not under the incubation program. This will also encourage users to explore more into the different communities in Hive.

How this Works

OCD curators and community leaders will find posts from other niche communities and recommend them for an upvote. Unlike those communities in the incubation program where curation is focused, this curation initiative is spread out. This will help find undervalued posts from smaller communities that deserve support.

This will highlight both the author and the community where the post is located. This way, smaller niche communities can focus on growing their subscribers and increasing the engagements within their respective communities. A small boost goes a long way.

Speaking of boost, here are the curated posts for this batch:

The Courageous Me

I was having anxiety on this day. Last night, we had a misunderstanding with my husband that led to a sleepless night. As I had risen in the morning 'though I haven't slept, I still need to be ready for work. I got children to feed.

A Movie Night In An Art Center To Unwind

Whoever setup the hall has to be given a medal. The place was dark, but just dark enough to enjoy a movie in. There were blue lights distributed across the hall to give the room a little lightning not too bright to interfere with the movie on the big board in front of us. I really liked the setup.

[WE-139] - weekend sharing

At the end of last year, I suffered badly from an autoimmune disease that left me with some loss of feeling, balance, movement and sight.

After spending a period in hospital, I have got most of my strength back. Physically I actually feel much better and my balance is probably 98% back to normal.

Cooking chayote vegetables

I'm back with recipes that can be used as your daily menu. The Menu is simple but I think it is delicious and suitable to eat with rice. The main ingredient here is chayote. Chayote is one of the plants that can be included in the group of vegetables. Chayote is usually planted in the ground and will be able to propagate to trees or anything close to it. Back in my hometown there were a lot of chayote plants. If you want to cook chayote just pick it, different from in the capital that all must buy. Indeed, sometimes life in the village is easier if only to eat, because abundant plants can be used as food ingredients. If in the capital the excess is a source for us to make money.

A personal story at #BeerSaturday

In October I’ve been in Belgium to visit my grandfather for a last time (during a nice afternoon at my aunt’s place) and for a very last time at the home where he has been staying the last 3-4 years of his life. He got diagnosed an infection in his foot, which was not curable and which – together with his dementia - would be the end of story for him.

La Escritura ¿ Por qué funciona contra la Ansiedad? [ESP-ENG]

Yes, writing, as simple as that, writing what about? What we feel, what we want to say to others, what we would like others to say to ourselves, writing is a form of communication, we can not only express ourselves through spoken language, writing can be for some, as in my case, a better form of communication to better express our feelings.

A Special First Date [Fiction]

"What should I do?" Dennis Oswald muttered to himself as he fastened a leash around his dog's neck. Just then a frail-looking woman wearing a woollen shawl around her delicate shoulders gingerly stepped out of their condo.

She smiled at her husband. Her skin was papery and pale. Her eyes were gentle, and her mouth set in a thin, soft line. Dennis smiled back, held out his hand and gently grabbed hers as he helped her down the small steps in front of their condo.

RV Heights Cafe - Unexpectedly Good!

Going to Tagbilaran City from our town, we would often pass by Loay and there's this restaurant that my husband and I had been planning on stopping by for a meal. We finally got the chance to go last week. Intentionally, we starting traveling at around ten in the morning so that we could drop by the restaurant for lunch.

A Trade Beyond Price

Sadly, back then we were so focused on growing up, we never really took the time to appreciate our childhood. We never took the time to peruse over the lifestyle, responsibilities, and sacrifices, which all come in a goody bag, along with all the age and "freedom" of being an adult. We were young and naive, power hungry, we wanted to be our own bosses. We failed to recognize the fact, that in search of authority, we were trading off something priceless.

Survival: What if you go bankrupt?

My strategy is the result of experimentation. No, I've never been homeless. Not in a easily reversible way, at least. A handful of times I found myself houseless for several weeks or even months while traveling around the world. How's that different? It differs that I could go back home anytime I wanted. However, during those months traveling, I was indeed living on the streets, sleeping on the streets, sleeping under bridges, taking shower in gas stations and often depending on strangers. I believe this experience prepared me somehow.
