This was just uploaded to YouTube by the great Heavenlyblueorange channel. They are still digging up Garage Rock songs that I have not heard.
I have not heard of this band, The British North American Act, but supposedly they are from Montreal and this song is on their only album, In The Beginning, from 1969. The song is called Don't Run Away. It features a chugging backbeat with sweet organ music pierced by the fuzzy overdriven lead guitar.
Now that you're here with me, why won't you stay.
Now that you're near to me, don't run away.
You know I tried so hard, hear what I say.
I want you to understand, I love you! Don't run away!
Here is a version of the song uploaded some time ago, with just the album cover as the video part.
The video just uploaded has some footage probably from some 60s movie and is marked Age Restricted, so it can't be embedded. I watched it a few times and I don't see the issue! The audio quality seems to be better on this newer version. Click Watch on YouTube to go hear it.
Bonus track! Another cool cut from the album In The Beginning, by The British North-American Act. This one is called Give Yourself A Ride!
