A Reflection of My Former Self

Looking back upon thoughts from decades past, I can tell you that my thoughts have shifted.
Although I've juggled the classic problems of existence, my moods have ultimately lifted.

There is no magic pill or formula for a change of fate in this circumstantial life.
This world offers up a multitude of choices ranging from pen to gun to knife.

Each choice rides the coat tales of the last, leading to a meal at home or a bar and shot glass.
We can live in great castles of fortune or in an echo chamber wishing our time to the weekend to pass.

Many choices we may wield like the great swords of the past, unknowing of the costs of our choices.
Many of us, fumbling dumbly and numbly on the most trivial tasks barely know how to use our voices.

There's places in this world that give way to speculation and mass extinction of true articulation;
In a world where half truths have half lives, the world is vulnerable to artful manipulation.

The truer self prevails while the vying ego yearns to be served, fed and nurtured without restraint.
Look upon the Earth as on organism of inharmonious ebb and flow; a similar picture should we paint.

Mark'd are the days of this word where true abundance and diversity of life freely roamed the Earth.
I've often thought that this would be the last natural age before this planet would rebirth.

Yes, my meandering mind has twisted and turned and cut deep through the channels of time's passage.
I have become an entirely new person over this journey along side the world's adulterated visage.

There exists no longer, existential dread, within the confines of my once slightly troubled mind.
To fear the world in which we exist would be to reject my faith in the ascension of human kind.
