WHAT HAPPENS AFTER WE WATCH A LOT OF TELEVISION?

in #life6 years ago (edited)

Television after its appearance, has become an indispensable artifact for many people, to the point that in many families was assigned the delicate task of caring for children while parents work. Programs of any kind, some educational, others not so much, but what about an individual who watches a lot of television?

Television, as well as video games, make the person passive in their movements, in children it is possible that they acquire brain speed, but this is not synonymous with meaningful learning, only the capture of images, words and movements is achieved. speed, however, this process is so fast that little brains assimilate it.
The intention, is not to say that watching a lot of television is good or bad, it is evident that with it the physical movement is relegated, unless you are watching an exercise program and you are doing them simultaneously; but to invite reflection, how many hours do we spend in front of the television? How many hours do our children spend? Apparently keeps the children quiet, but this interferes with learning, decreasing creativity and socializing with other people.

If we see a child in front of the television, he seems hypnotized, because he is being bombarded by a series of images, he repeats what he hears without a background of understanding that directs his imagination and creative reasoning. The images cause the child's eyes to focus a lot, so there is no connection between words and images; the brain, for its part, tries to defend itself, reducing its activity to the lowest wave, the alpha wave, which is incompatible with reasoning and the active brain.

Television offers an open window of information, however, the habit of spending many hours at the front of this device generates learning away from movement and away from emotional and sensory connections such as smell, taste, touch, which will lead to patterns of learning are affected.

The invitation then is not to leave television completely, it is always nice to see a good movie, but to incorporate other habits that provide us with more content and well-being, such as reading a good book, doing exercises, painting, any activity that is In accordance with our tastes and affinities, it will be good, the idea is that it allows us and our children to move, generate new learning patterns and strengthen our brain.
