Digibyte. The way I look at it using a Return On Investment (ROI).

in #leofinance6 months ago (edited)

Digibyte, to me is a great coin. I bought some years ago and I still may hold a few. I say that so you know I've had or now have a vested interest. Looking at it financially I compared it to stock market returns since 2016.

"If you invested $320 in the S&P 500 at the beginning of 2016, you would have about $851.34 at the end of 2021, assuming you reinvested all dividends. This is a return on investment of 166.04%, or 17.71% per year." FN1

Digibyte's annualized Return On Investment is 106.15% since 2016.

On June 18, 2016, Digibyte printed a bottom at 42 satoshi

DGBBTC Daily Chart (Bittrex) 6/18/2016

The same day Bitcoin created a swing top at $778.85

For the sake of simplicity, I considered Digibyte and Bitcoin reversing trend at the exact moment in time. The dollar price of one DGB would have been $0.00032711 based on comparison.

However, on the same day, in the DGBUSD market using the low

One DGB in dollars was $0.00032. FN2

2,073 days later DGB found a floor at 41 satoshi.

DGBBTC Daily Chart
(Bittrex) Recent

The lowest price of Bitcoin that day was $37,974.18.

The value in dollars of one DGB would have been $0.01556941 if computed as the same above.

The DGBUSD market on Bittrex records the low of that day as $0.01997. FN3

One million Digibyte bought at that price stated above on that day in 2016 had an initial cost of not much more than $320-$328 (excluding exchange fees). 68 months, 2 days later that same DGB holding had a market value of $15,569.41 to $19,970.00. FN4

Using the high of 2016 and market price of 2022 a Return On Investment using Calculator.net would have been

5,988.41% ROI.

I think, Digibyte in comparison to the S&P 500 MidCap and SmallCap and DJIA average annual returns (see also FN5) is a very good investment of capital. Although the price of one DGB Satoshi-wise was no different in 2016 than it was two months ago. Value is how you perceive it.
