New Herb - frosted crop Nov 2024.jpg

On Wednesday morning when I pulled the shades up, I saw the New Herb garden was covered with frost.

As was the wildflower area. Once everything has died back, I will have my son take the weedwacker to it and knock it down.

Christmas tree - bubble lights and garlands on2 crop Nov 2024.jpg

I messaged my #2 intern and asked if she had time to put on the rest of the bubble lights and the garlands. She arrived around noontime and I sat and tested and she installed them. Then we got the garlands out and she put them on.

She had been talking with her sister, #1 intern, and their friend, my general helper, before she arrived and they were all talking about how they have helped on the tree for the last few years. The other 2 are down south and I think it made them a little homesick.

A few less Christmas boxes crop Nov 2024.jpg

I packed up the boxes we had emptied and she took the 4 of them upstairs. All that’s left are tree decoration boxes and 1 box of house decorations.

Washer - old transmission replaced crop Nov 2024.jpg

At 3PM my contractor arrived to install the new transmission into the old washer. I mostly sat and watched as pushing washers and dryers around was not allowed per PT person.

Washer - it works crop Nov 2024.jpg

He got it done and in place and we ran a small load of towels through it. No clanking noises! It did get unbalanced during the first spin and I had to fix that. But it ran with the noise I hadn’t heard since 2020, a most pleasing noise!

So he got cleaned up and I took the vacuum into the living room. By the time he left at 6:15PM the pain has started again and I was starting to have trouble breathing. I think I’d forgotten and pulled the vacuum with my right hand…

The nursing staff crop Nov 2024.jpg

My nurse was on the job, but even with heating pads the pain got worse. I managed to get to meds and took them but it was a good 45 minutes before they kicked in.

Once I could breathe enough to walk, I went to bed. I have a CPAP and I hoped it would help with the breathing and it did. My son had to light both stoves and do the shades and lights for me.

On Thursday my friend is coming at noon. I need to clean up the kitchen and prepare the snacks. She’s bringing oyster stew which we will finish making here. My son brought an apple pie home from the restaurant where he works.

The plan is to decorate the tree. I’ll probably sit and put hooks on decorations and leave the placing to her. We also plan to watch Babette’s Feast at some point. It’s supposed to rain all day.

Be careful with that arm!

Nice tree and good job with washing machine

Since you have people around you who can do the chores, please do save yourself the stress of doing anything for now.

It will take more time fir the muscles to be healed. You have to restrain yourself from using that arm for a while.
The tree looks very nice with all the lights and decorations.
The frost had arrived early thus year?!

Have fun and take it easy!

No frost arrive back in October, but this was a particularly heavy one.

Oh! I could feel the cold wind from your continent here thus morning! It’s infectious! 😂

Wind and rain here yesterday. Tom and my helper friend didn’t go to their respective families because both lived in the hill towns and got 5 - 8” of snow!

It is very difficult to farm in such a cold weather, the crops may die. It was a busy day for you, just like the previous days.

I think you should take a break of two days
You’d be fine!
