Hive has changed so much over time

Ive been on Hive for a long time. Ive been here so long that I hardly remember what I was doing before Hive. 😅
In that time Ive seen a lot of stuff and been a part of some saucy dramas. Learned a lot of things. Made some mistakes and tried to learn from them.

Most of all had fun. Its very hard to compare Hive today to Hive years ago and Im not talking underlying tech.
The mentality has changed and the community has matured. I know incentives have been tweaked over time to bring us to this "harmonious" point but I still like to think that where once there was only a focus on personal profit, now there is an understanding that Hive is worth preserving, not only for the personal wealth it can create, but even more so for the world changing potential it has.

Its quite a contrast to what was happening before...

Korean whales circle jerking and topping the trending pages every day by posting a random picture of the street or out the window. I cant remember his name, but I used to fuck with one of the worst of these guys so hard. I know it might not show now but I used to have so many "self-inflicted" whale downvotes on my posts. Ive been probably downvoted by every single whale at one point or another for talking shit to them. 😂

I remember Dtube and their generous votes on crap by using the Steemit delegation. There was this one girl that couldnt sing or play. She was so bad that if she went on something like X-factor, judges would shit on her so hard that she would make the best of the worst compilations that are replayed for decades on youtube.

And its not that people arent allowed to suck. I sometimes sing. I suck.
Its that she was the top paid "musician" on Steem for more than a year by far (top 2-3 accounts overall), while you had the OpenMic competition with 50+ brilliant musicians not coming close.
Obvious corruption.
Before her the top paid were people google translating random texts. 😂

Did someone say bidbots? That was a fun time. Majority of the people that used them religiously, got their posts seen the most, arent on Hive anymore. I remember one arrogant ahole that would boost himself for thousands of dollars to sell his hustler philosophy nonsense.
I was never a fan of online gurus. I think theyre exploitative pieces of shit preying on weak willed and lost individuals.

I still miss Jerry though. 😞

When the bidbots were coming close to their end, I have to be honest, I wasnt someone that believed anything would change. I was so disappointed with the Steemit, Ned, various influential baddies on Steem at that time that I didnt hold hope we would get to where we are now. Thankfully I was wrong.

I remember whale wars over curation sniping. Haejin drama. Dlive betrayal. Bernies bs. Much more minor stuff that used to entertain us.
Justin Sun coming in and trying to exploit the premine state we were in I dont even need to talk about.

It would be quite interesting for someone to chronicle the history of Hive. Summarize all these major and minor events. A sort of, Hive history book. lol
