some more attempts at light painting
Good Morning, I hope all is well with you
I have bene out and about before sunrise a few times recently and prior to enough light to take photos of the scenery and such I have bene playing aroudn with my light painting tools trying to improve the images I can create
Lets me start with one taken in Fort Tabor Park, this one i used the RGB critter flashlight and attachments, but also used a normal torn to create those stars of white light in this one

And some have asked what is light painting and how I do it
Lightpainting is a photographic technique in which exposures are made mostly long exposures so you need your camera on a steady surface such as a tripod. and by moving a hand-held light source this can be to to illuminate a subject, create light patterns, or to shine a point of light directly at the camera, another way is by moving the camera itself during exposure, something i havent tried intentionally myself, I have sometimes moved my camera while taking a long exposure and got some funky effects.
and for many me included, although I do edit all my photos I do not add any effects while edited just fine tune what a managed to catch.
For my light sourse I have two RGB critter flashlights, that can be set to shine in a variety of colors or patterns of colors, and some attachments I connect to these.
Each time I go out I am trying to get better with the images i create and i would like to think I am doing better than when I started but then I see some amazing light painting effects created by others and it inspires me to keep practicing and hopefully improving
One area I am still not happy with is trying to paint figures, I use the RGB critter and an acrylic writer attachment and try to draw lines all around my body, this one is better than some I have tried, but I need to work out how to do these better

This one is also in Mattapoisette on a path called the Mattapoisette rail trail a great spot for walking and cyclists
that morning ended up being a frystrating morning, well I think it was the day I took this next one, I took this shot and then my remote for triggering the camera stopped working, and i guess I got a bit frustrated and add to that it was misty and my lens kept fogging up I did not get many goot shots that morning
PS the remote problem was just the battery died i changed battery when I got home and its now working fine

and back at Fort Tabor for this last one
Since the clocks changed to fall back the sunrise has bene earlier so I havent been out early enough to do to much light painting, plus with ibeing down near to or below freezing point at sunrise the last few days I havent been out for any morning walks recently but I do look forward to keeping working to improve what I can get

How did you do that shoot?
It looks so perfect, the beauty of the photography is truly amazing ♥️
it's so beautiful my brother
Ah, so you just take separate photos and then merge them together? I thought you took people with you to move the lights. That's really interesting. It's amazing what you can do with technology these days!
I may have not explained it well
These ones are all single long exposures
I have the camera on the tripod
Use the remote to start the exposure then walk and move the torch and attachment sort of like a light saber around and when finished use the remote to stop the exposure
That makes sense!
Great, great, great photos, bravo!
So so cool 😊
They look awesome.
I never tried it so far.
Have a wonderful Friday.
I'm having a lot of fun doing these
I love seeing you do this! A new meaning to body painting!
Thanks yeah a different style of body painting lol
Fun to do
wow, that's great. I wanted to try it but I didn't dare go out before the sun came up.
They are fun to do
I think most people do them at night not many are early risers like me
Those last two are really cool! Very nicely done! That second to the last one almost looks like an alien made of light on the pathway, and the last one like a fireworks display in the uniqueness of each display. Great job!
Thanks for the feedback I have a lot of fun doing these
