A Short Night In Nature
Together with @stepko and @lichtkunstfoto I had an appointment for light painting in Berlin at the weekend.
Shortly after the summer solstice, there is not much time for light painting in our latitude. The nights are short.
The first results were already posted here in HIVE last Sunday by @lichtkunstfoto. You can find the post here:
The Ruin - Camera Rotation Lightpainting on Hive
The location was an hour's drive from Berlin and was in a wooded area right next to a pond. We were welcome guests, hosts for the many mosquitoes. It really didn't help against these beasts. Every free body part was attacked! Next time I'll take a full protective suit including a gas mask. You can also use this in the picture. 😎
Despite the adverse circumstances, I think that some interesting pictures were taken that night, which I would like to show you.
Zusammen mit @stepko und @lichtkunstfoto war ich am Wochenende in Berlin zum Lightpainten verabredet.
Kurz nach der Sommersonnenwende hat man in unseren Breitengrad nicht sehr viel Zeit für ein Lightpainting. Die Nächte sind kurz. Die ersten Ergebnisse wurden bereits am vergangenen Sonntag von @lichtkunstfoto hier in HIVE gepostet. Ihr findet den Beitrag hier:
The Ruin - Camera Rotation Lightpainting on Hive
Die Location war eine Stunde Autofahrt von Berlin entfernt und befand sich in einem Waldstück direkt an einem Teich. Wir waren willkommene Gäste, als Wirt für die vielen Mücken. Es half wirklich nichts gegen diese Biester. Jede freie Körperstelle wurde attackiert! Das nächste mal nehme ich einen Vollschutzanzug inklusive Gasmaske mit. Das kann man eventuell auch im Bild mit verwenden. 😎
Trotz der widrigen Umstände denke ich, dass in dieser Nacht einige interessante Bilder entstanden sind, die euch gern zeigen möchte.

The Magnetic Field
On the set, the images were created through teamwork. We had a lot of fun doing it and new ideas kept coming up. In the title picture you can see Stefan as a model. At the same time he operated the camera. I swung the flashlights and Sven gave me important information from the off.
If Stefan had taken just one step forward, the magnetic field would have shot him through the lens. 😂 Luckily everything went well again. 😅
Am Set entstanden die Bilder durch Teamarbeit. Wir hatten sehr viel Spaß dabei und so entstanden immer neue Ideen. Im Titelbild seht ihr Stefan als Model. Gleichzeitig bediente er die Kamera. Ich habe die Taschenlampen geschwungen und aus dem Off kamen wichtige Hinweise von Sven.
Wäre Stefan nur einen Schritt nach vorn gegangen, hätte ihn das Magnetfeld durch das Objektiv geschossen. 😂 Zum Glück ist nochmal alles gut gegangen. 😅

Paternoster
The next picture was created by rotating the camera. I imagined a paternoster that has the special feature of turning the cabins upside down when moving to the next shaft.
Stefan can be seen as the top model. The scene was illuminated with a Convoy S2+ with an orange LED and one with a blue LED. The kicklight was set with a Sofirm SP36.
Das nächste Bild entstand durch Kamerarotation. Dabei stellte ich mir einen Paternoster vor, der die Besonderheit besitzt die Kabinen beim umsetzen in den nächsten Schacht auf den Kopf zu stellen.
Als Topmodell ist Stefan zu sehen. Beleuchtet wurde die Szene mit einer Convoy S2+ mit orangener LED und einer mit blauer LED. Das Kicklicht wurde mit einer Sofirm SP36 gesetzt.

The Power
The last picture shows me as a model with a laser.
Sven took care of the fog and the kicklight.
I lit the scene with a Convoy S2+ with an orange LED.
Das letzte Bild zeigt mich als Model mit einem Laser.
Sven hat hier für den Nebel und das Kicklicht gesorgt.
Die Szene wurde von mir mit einer Convoy S2+ mit orangener LED ausgeleuchtet.
Fake Ruin
We pondered for a while how and when the building was created and for what purpose it was built. The stones tell us that the building cannot be very old as the material has only been available for the last 50 years. So it was built as a ruin. However, for us it's a brilliant place to let the lights dance and create cool light painting pictures. Thanks to all involved!
Wir haben eine Weile darüber sinniert, wie und wann das Gebäude wohl entstand und zu welchem Zweck es erbaut wurde. Die Steine verraten uns, dass das Gebäude nicht sehr alt sein kann, da das Material erst die letzten 50 Jahre verfügbar war. Es wurde also als Ruine gebaut. Für uns ist es jedoch ein genialer Ort, um die Lichter tanzen zu lassen und dabei coole Lightpainting-Bilder zu kreieren. Danke an alle beteiligten!
WHAT IS LIGHT PAINTING?
Light painting is a unique form of art. The darkness is illuminate by the artist with diverse light sources and light traces are paint into the picture with various light tools. Various techniques are use, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during the exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. All the pictures were taken during one single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cutting and possibly adjusting the white balance, the pictures are not processed on the computer.

Cooler Bericht zu unserem Ausflug in die Wald-Fake-Ruine. Die Bilder finde ich sehr gelungen und es hat wirklich Spaß gemacht, bei dem ganzen Entstehungsprozess dabei gewesen zu sein, trotz der permanenten Mückenangriffe.
Hey Stefan, es war mir ein Fest mit euch die Bilder erstellen zu dürfen. Wie oben beschrieben: TEAMARBEIT 👍 ...das macht den Spaß aus! Das werden wir bestimmt nochmal wiederholen.
