Hello, lovers of photography! Here I come with a part 2 of my short summer vacation trip in Greece. September is still perfectly suitable time to visit there - the temperatures are not as high as in July and August, and the days not as long, but the sea is probably the warmest and you can spend majority of the day on the beach without worrying about sunburns.
We stayed at the Nea Kallikrateia town which belongs to the Halkidiki region. On the way from Serbia it is one of the closest locations, just half an hour drive as you pass by Thessaloniki. And as I mentioned in the previous post, during summer it's overtaken by Serbian tourists, we felt like we are at home. :D
I was with family which includes two sweet nieces so that meant we didn't explore the area much and focused on spending time on the beach and just enjoying the moments. Kallikrateia is characterized by long sandy beaches with small areas covered with pebbles. There's also no sudden depths as you get in the water which was convenient for the kids. We were outside of the city center in a beautiful villa with exotic fruit trees in a large backyard. And so we avoided the crowds, we pretty much had the beach for ourselves.
Ten minute walk from us there was a cape inside the water with large rocks exposed to the tide of the sea. It's beautiful and hidden and people loved to get inside and have a secluded, relaxing time. Sunsets were particularly beautiful here, you can see the sun disappears on the horizon, right above the Mount Olympus that spreads wide in the distance.
There were plenty of these reefs along the way, I would take a 30-minute walk towards downtown and stop every few minutes for an amazing view over the hidden beach that drops straight down below the main road. The path down, usually less travelled, leads through cactus plants and pine trees.
Below are some photos I took, I hope you enjoy them! More to come next time.
The appearance of the beach is very beautiful and the trip will definitely be very fun.
