Rainy days for street photography are something different, I've always been looking forward to those as you know. Usually crowded streets are now pretty desolate and people move with purpose and excitement or dread. They are not sluggish from the summer temperatures but rather walk with vigor, either to hide from the rain or to embrace it.
We had a terrible storm last night. It's usually how it goes. After few weeks of intensely high temperatures a heavy downpour was anticipated, there's no middle ground anymore. City, not equipped to deal with so much water, collapses, many streets turn to rivers and people get stuck, especially in more rural areas.
Umbrellas are an element that I love capturing in the images, I don't know why but its shape and/or color builds upon a person and makes them visually striking. Same thing with
vibrant trench coats or overcoats.
I spent the few hours wandering through the familiar streets and visiting the fortress which is, except for the dedicated tourists, deserted on such rainy days. The stone walls glistened with water, and the greenery is as vibrant as ever.
Staying in the areas where there is traffic is also a good idea for street photography for several reasons. Silhouettes of solitary people in the distance against the backdrop of car or city lights can be interesting, and bus stops are also a source of inspiration - condensation on the windows, and people in a contemplative state... Photos are taken with Fuji X-Pro2 + 35mm F/2 lens.
The road are even more prettier when it's wet with rain like this. Even the captured subject in it looks more special, so different when in it is sunny. But of course sunny weather has it's own unique and beauty too when you captured a certain subject with it. Anyways, first phot is certainly my favorite. With that excited doggo and it's hooman ✨✨❤️.
You said it well - both circumstances have its' merits, it's on the photographer to use them well. :) Glad you liked the first one!
OMG! Girl with red hair is so pretty. She doesn't even have to try.
Someday I'm going to take a photograph in the rain. It's something I want to tick off my bucket list.
Your photos are bedazzling as always. <3
Isn't she?! I loved that she was holding the rose so I had to capture her. Hope you'll get to go on a rainy day photo walk soon. 🤞
I hope so too. <3
Once again an excellent job... my respects.
Thank you very much!
