Introduction

Hi everybody,

I'm @shawnnft. This is my post for the #threetunetuesday playlist which is a contest hosted by @ablaze. Today, I will feature my part 2 for Korean songs! The songs I chose are randomly chosen from my Korean playlist and if it happened to be a song I covered before than I would skip it. Anyways I hope you enjoy the songs.

Part 1

#1. Shock - BEAST

The first song randomly chosen was Shock by BEAST. I want to say this is an OG Kpop group and I was quite a big fan of this group back then. I really liked their songs Beautiful and I Like You The Best at the time. Anyways let's focus on this song. This song is a nice upbeat song that you can dance too if you're a dancer.

The song is about a girl leaving the guy and the guy goes crazy because she left. He's crazy to the point that he is "shock" and this is where the title of the song comes from. In this song, I believe the shock is like the guy is stunned because he can't think or focus on anything else and just keeps thinking of the girl which we can infer from the lyrics "every day I shock, every night I shock". I find this song interesting because the lyrics are a bit sad but the melody of the song is upbeat.

#2. Error - VIXX

The second song chosen was Error by VIXX. Vixx is actually my favorite Kpop group. They aren't a really famous group compared to some other big kpop groups like BTS, Bigbang and Blackpink but I like most of their songs and the meaning behind them. This song gives that super dark and emo feeling. I like how the song also has some rap in it and the even watching the music video was captivating at the time when I first saw it.

The song is about a guy doing his best to let go and forget about a girl. There is no clear reason from the lyrics on why he wants to let go and forget about the girl but from the lyrics, there is a vague line saying that he's hurting by staying with her. Then later he realized that letting her go and forgetting about her hurts him even more which is the last two lyrics in the song. This song makes me think of you don't know what you have until it's gone.

#3. Love Scenario - iKON

Finally, the last song I chose is Love Scenario by iKON. This group and song is quite famous as you can see this video has 617m views. I first heard this song from karaoke with a group of friends that my cousin introduced which had a lot of international students from Korea and Japan.

The song is about a guy reminiscing about the past when he was dating a girl. He thought about the time when he met her and fell in love. It was an unforgettable memory according to the lyrics. He wants to remember the time with her as a movie and this is where "love scenario" comes in. It seems like he's moved on but he still thinks from time to time that the girl was a great partner even though they had arguments sometimes, they did genuinely love each other at the time.
