Time For 173rd Three Tune Tuesday
Clouds floating above heavy with rain, time has come for our wet season, rejoice in sharing tunes and memories, like clouds times ever change.
Time After Time singer Bing Crosby in 1947 one of my parents collection of records, never aging tune over the years introduced in a romantic jazz standard with lyrics written by Sammy Cahn in 1946.
Woke up this morning with words swirling around my head, why I know not, perhaps my parents version reminded me. Perhaps later version by Cyndi Lauper selected to share reminding me more of earlier years. First son was close to two and second on his way/or arrived, this hit the radio great to sing along with changing shitty nappies singing along doing chores.
Cyndi Lauper - Time After Time
We all living on borrowed time, make the most of every moment. Don't complicate life, it's complicated enough!
A philosophical reflection the the fact we are all mortal, death can arrive at any time, little did the artist know his time came sooner than expected, perhaps strong premonition.
Borrowed Time - John Lennon
Hustle and bustle of life, is time really what we imagine it to be? Written in the time of Vietnam War what's changed people being drafted going off to die in large numbers, here at home in South Africa our border wars.... Lyrics take on far deeper meaning, written by Robert Lamm keyboard for Chicago band.
Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?
As I was walking down the street one day
A man came up to me and asked me
What the time was that was on my watch
Yeah, and I said
does anybody really know what time it is?
(Care) does anybody really care?
(About time) you know, I can't imagine why
(Oh no, no) we've all got time enough to cry
And I was walking down the street one day
A pretty lady looked at me
And said her diamond watch had stopped cold dead
And I said
does anybody really know what time it is?
(Care) does anybody really care?
(About time) you know, I can't imagine why
(Oh no, no) we've all got time enough to cry
And I was walking down the street one day
Being pushed and shoved by people
Trying to beat the clock, oh, no
I just don't know, I don't, I don't, oh
And I said yes, I said
does anybody really know what time it is?
(Care) does anybody really care?
(About time) you know, I can't imagine why
(Oh no, no) we've all got time enough to die
Everybody's working
(I don't care) I don't care
(About time)
(Oh no, no) oh no, no

I have a heard one or two of Cyndi Lauper, I honestly didn’t expect that entrance from the beat. It’s so smooth…
That’s a solid question. Do we ever know what time it is? Wow
She sang it beautifully as well, good memories during fun loving years of youth, bonus it tied back to the real oldies who had also enjoyed singing the same tune.
Time, who knows...., still asking 😕
Without a doubt, the three songs you chose are ideal for a cloudy day about to rain. Although I liked all three, Cyndi Lauper's song - Time After Time brought back very good memories.
Have a lovely day. I hope everything goes well with your home renovation. Beautiful musical selection, dear friend @joanstewart
Rain over here since Friday night with odd break in between.
When you wake up with a song going around your head it leads you into a post, I am supposed to be doing other things right now, it's raining we needed a song.
