After playing Splinterlands in the morning and buying groceries, the same came out so it was a good time for another cycling ride.
My total planned ride was 55km, and it could've been worse but after 47km I felt a wobble in my left pedal, I stopped thinking my cleat became loose but it wasn't... Strange! So I started cycling again, the wobble got worse and 5 meters later my complete crank arm came off the bike! π«’
I have quite a lot of tools with me to repair most things on the side of the road, tire repair set, chain pliers, chain breaker and a multitool but I didn't even know how a crank arm is supposed to be mounted, in hindsight you need a special shimano tool for this so no way I could have fixed this.
I had two options, walk 8km on my cycling shoes - not the best idea - or try pedalling with one crank π
Good thing my shoe is fixed to my pedal so I could pull the pedal up after each stroke, it looks funny and it was quite a one legged work out, it wasn't even that bad and I think in about half an hour I arrived in my hometown where I went straight to the local bike shop.
I only bought this bike in May this year, they fixed it in 15 minutes with apologies, this should've never have happened and now he properly fixed it so it wouldn't come loose again, good!
No bill and quick repair so great service π
