If it were possible to change certain things about your life, what would it be? I strongly believe that this is a miracle that almost everybody prays for and hopes for. There are no doubts that there are certain mistakes we have made and hoped that we could correct them. It may not even be a mistake. It may be a particular thing that we wished turned out in a particular way, but unfortunately it didn't.
Hands of Time, by R. Kelly. This song often puts me in a state of remembrance whenever I listen to it. It takes me to certain times that I wish I had done things differently.
As funny as it sounds, oftentimes when I watch some movies that have to do with time travel, I begin to imagine what it would be like if it were actually possible. But I guess life is not some kind of movie.
There are quite a couple of things that make me wish I could go back in time and correct. One of them was investing in myself earlier. I should have invested in myself more rather than other people simply because of the stipends I received at the end of every month. If I had started earlier in investing in myself, I sure definitely would not be where I am today.
Another thing I wish I could change was the poor relationship I built when I gained admission to the university. Truth be told, the kind of relationship you build really matters a lot. I remember when I signed out of the university after writing my last paper. All I could ask myself was what I was able to achieve at the end of my five years in school. I looked at some of my colleagues whom I knew when we started off in our first year.
We were once at the same level, not just educationally but also in our mental and financial capabilities, and I saw how they had excelled marvelously, and it was like I was left behind, simply because I failed to build quality relationships with them. And at this point, starting to build that relationship was kind of late, seeing that everyone was now going their separate ways.
But I am grateful to God for where I am today. About a year after I was done with my tertiary education, I came across an old friend who was also done with school but hung around because he was trying to finish up one or two things so that he could go for his National Youth Service. He introduced me to crypto. And one thing I learnt from it is that the earlier you invest, the better for you if you are willing to exercise patience.
He was the one who also introduced me to Hive Blog, quite an amazing platform, I must say. The few months I've participated in this platform have really been life changing. I saw myself being motivated more than ever, not just in this platform but in other spheres of life, to keep pushing and never to forget to try out new things.
We may not be able to change the past. But I believe God has a way of presenting us with more opportunities. All we have to do is be sensitive enough to know when they arrive and seize them. Bye for now.
