Somewhat fitting for the current UK affairs, I walked along the canal in Richmond to find the Kings Observatory.
The observatory was completed for King George III to observe the transit of Venus across the sun in 1769.
Since then it has changed hands a few times for commercial use and was eventually turned into a private residence in 2014 and is on land that is part of the Kew Estate. Kew Gardens is jus about visible through the trees in picture 1.
