For this match specifically I know that my tank is durable enough to sustain any attacks so I put in the filler at the back most for protection on possible sneak mosnter.
But for some instances yes, I put in the filler at the front to tank a hit or two. This is really depending on the lineup more specifically on your tank if you think it will be durable enough.
