MCGI Mass Indoctrination.

Today came with a different topic which I really appreciated. I appreciated it because I just had a fast a few days ago and I wanted to make sure that I do it well but I’m happy that Brother Eli Soriano talked about it.

How do we fast?

Fasting is a way to make ourselves hungry which is like a sacrifice so that our prayers can become answered. But fasting isn’t the only way to make our prayers become answered. What are the other things we should do? We need to fast with a clean mind and when fasting, we should make sure that we give food to the ones who are hungry, give clothes to those who are naked and help the poor. That’s one of the most important things we should do when fasting and not just fasting alone. It doesn’t work that way.

Isiah 58:6 has fully told us what fasting entails and what we should do when fasting.

Isiah 58:6 says, Is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

While fasting, we should always try to make sure that we contribute to the release of captives and help the oppressed. Fasting is like a huge task which needs us to add some other things to it to make it a whole and not just going hungry in vain.

To my fellow Christians, if we want to fast, we should make sure that we do all of these things alongside our fasting.

Brother Eli also left us with some Bible verses to read. They are;
1 Corinthians 7:4
Hebrew 13:14
Matthew 5:28

Sort:

I'm glad to know the right way to fast and surely this way of helping the oppressed is surely the best way to fast.

I’m happy that you now know
You can always put it to use

Thank God for this teachings

And I’m glad we all are learning to become better people

fasting is like a big task i am happy to see your review

The lessons we are learning from the doctrines are what we should obey. We should not only listen to them, we must obey and apply them in our lives.

That’s true
When we only listen and don’t put them to use, we forget fast so it is usually better to act according to the doctrines as well
