Let's reach out and grow...

I would like to tell you a little story about some experiences that I had lately on the blockchain.

It seems that lately the interaction on posts on Hive has decreased a bit and this is a pity. Not only for the people who post content and don't know whether anybody read their content at all but also for the reader that doesn't leave a comment because he misses a chance to grow...

The amazing effects of reaching out

Most of us on this blockchain are authors, readers and curators. So we can put ourselves in the shoe of the guy who writes a post, gets some upvotes but no or very few comments. We have put a lot of effort in these posts and I believe we want more than just to earn a couple of cents with it. With our posts we want to vehicule a message or at least we want to get a minimum of attention.

My experiment

Inspired by a very good friend, I made an experiment with my personal account. For a couple of days, I reached out to people and read their posts. I chose posts that had now comments and were of high quality. I took the time to read their posts and left an upvote and also a comment. I did that 3 to 5 times per day and it took me no more than 10 minutes per day. I believe I reached out like that to something like 10 to 15 people.

You can't imagine the return I got from that.

Not only did I have some very interesting interactions. Most of the time I got a full upvote of the author and a comment answering mine. I also got 3 new followers. Some people read my latest post and gave me an upvote in return. In one case, a person looked up my website and started to use one of my tools. I also got several referrals for my Lbry channel that I linked in my signature.

The best spent time on hive is to pay attention to others

If you want to grow your sphere of influence on the blockchain, I believe the best strategy is to reach out to others, pay attention to their content and engage with them. You can only profit and in the worst case you spent a little time and earned some curation rewards.

However I believe that we should do this only if we are really serious about it. Leaving a standard comment that is unrelated to the post, simply doesn't cut it. We need to put an effort into it but it's really rewarding. You should try it out...

That is the power of interaction or should i say engagement which many people are ignore of

True, everybody has the power to use this power and it's a pity only very few are doing it. Thanks a lot for your comment!

I got a bit sick, and no engagement on Hive... WTH!? I can't take a day off... 🤣
Actually, there were 2 days, and I'm still on 50% of my strength... I didn't reply to comments on my own posts, but I will catch them up, hopefully...

I like your little experiment as it's a really nice "push-up" for the small authors and they are the fresh blood here on the chain! I hope I will get better soon and do the same tactic as you are doing, as it WORKS!

Cheers!

I was looking for your video today on Lbry and couldn't find any, I thought you might have taken a day off (well deserved by the way). I'm sorry to hear that it's because of sickness. Get well soon!

A couple of days without you on hive and interaction drops dramatically ;-).

I realized that there also quite advanced users who don't get much interaction on their posts. It's also nice to help them since they proved their dedication to the blockchain already.

Hope you are back at 100% soon! Best regards

well, interaction and engagement is a two-way street... If you don't engage, others will not do it also... but, there are also other variables, like the craziness of the world... :)

like the craziness of the world... :)

Unfortunately we have a lot of that lately :-)

Without a doubt the interaction and the engagement is what produce best result.I think it's a problem that is missing educate users, in this culture of social networks on the blockchain there are many users who believe they own the truth and want to confuse concepts between centralization, freedom and decentralization. We must neutralize those users by emanating them and in worst case scenario ignoring they.

I know that together collaborating with others, we can get great potential, weaving powerful relationships and probably make this network go very far. Personally, the residual effects of these fights and conflicts between chsins, are already beginning to be seen. And to be honest, I feel very sorry for that who said that this was not going to happen, and that even moved from one network to another, because now we are seeing the wrong its procedure and the true result.Very good recommendations, you have my support in your post.

Instead of building, this conflict has just brought hatered and fears. I hope we can let all this behind and start a constructive behaviour on the blockchain. Thanks a lot for your comment!

A lot of people including myself fell alive when I see comments on my blog. But it saddens my heart when no comment at all is made. This has to stop and people really need to stip being selfish.

That is so true. Let's not forget that we have this power to give to others this great feeling by giving a simple comment. Let's pay forward!
