One thing that is very inevitable when it comes to accomplishing tasks late is frustration. Sometimes, these late accomplishments aren't your fault but you'd still have to take the fall for it if need be.

I was bestowed with the responsibility of a dining prefect towards my last days in highschool. Just imagine being in charge of the tummies of the whole school; accuracy was very important. Many students couldn't manage hunger properly hence, if they didn't eat at the designated time, they got very restless.
Basically, I was in charge of the female's tummies and general wellbeing when it was time for food. On this particular occasion, the cooks had some complications and as such, dinner which was always taken by 5:30pm was moved to 6pm. Girls weren't supposed to be outside their hostel after 6pm but we(I and my fellow dining prefect) couldn't exactly leave them to starve and so, we led them to the dining hall and gave them specific instructions to just eat and head back to their hostels.
During the process of sharing the food amidst the rush, everywhere was disorganised. You would see girls at the male section of the dining and vice versa. I tried maintaining decorum but my mates were part of the "disorganised people" and so, I couldn't really do anything.
Thirty minutes later the boarding mistress arrived. The first sight she saw took her by surprise and so she immediately summoned me. I explained to her the situation at hand and she did what a boarding mistress would do;threaten them. She started walking around the dining hall, ordering the female students to leave and promising to punish them severely.
Honestly, I was happy at her arrival because Instead to trying to coordinate headstrong students, I could finally have dinner too. Two of my friends and myself decided to join our food together so that we would eat faster. We stood by a pillar and were hungrily digging in when our boarding mistressed stopped by us and asked "who just hissed?"
Our cheeks were literally filled with food and all we could do was make the 'hmm?' sound. She repeated her question again, looking very pissed. I spoke up, telling her that we weren't the ones as we were just here, eating as fast as we could. This woman was so adamant. She kept saying that one of us hissed and that she was going to report us to school authorities. We weren't guilty and so we kept trying to explain to her that the dining hall was really rowdy and this 'hiss' could have come from anyone.
No one really liked this woman as so, the hiss could have literally come from anyone.
She walked out on us and one hour later I was called out of the bathroom. Why? The boarding master and chaplain had summoned us. Hehe. Whenever cases reached the chaplains desk, then punishment wasn't inevitable. I still didn't budge as I knew that I wasn't guilty. We went to meet him and he persistently asked us individually if we were guilty and our answer still didn't change. Sir, we didn't hiss.
He kept trying to guilt-trip us with things like; "what if she was your mother? How would you feel if someone hissed at your mother?" and yati yada.
We all answered him honestly and after the whole session, the man tasked us with the responsibility of finding who hissed. Hilarious! Where would we even start from? In a school with over 700 boarding students? After weeks of basically doing nothing– because I knew that nobody would admit the blame– we came together and gave a general apology to the boarding mistress. We made her smile in the end.
The funny fact was, we didn't get any form of punishment which was very strange. With the way this case was being handled, if care wasn't taken, the three of us would have been deep soup as the Chaplin had a record of making you think that you were guilty even when you weren't. It was a narrow escape and I'm glad I was able to bypass such trivial allegations.
With love, wongi ✨
I'll say you all were smart to give the boarding mistress a general apology. I can imagine how impressed she felt. In situations like this, it's good to simply appeal to people's good nature and hope things turn out well at the end! Hehe. I'm sure you had quite some adventures in boarding school. Thanks for sharing your story. 😊 !LADY

This is so funny 😂the woman must be very mean on little things, you are very fortunate you weren't punished though...
Mean, well, that could be another word for it. 😅
Thanks for stopping by dear✨

I didn't have any student on my trail so I think no one did.
Thank you very much ✨. I do appreciate.
It's lucky that she didn't show up fifteen minutes earlier 🤣
My pleasure, keep up the great work :)

The teacher should have known no one would admit that they were guilty. It's a good thing you weren't punished.
Nice Entry Sis.
Thank you so much hun
It is a very entertaining anecdote. The poor lady asking who is to blame, in the end everything ended well and at least they made the lady laugh.
Thanks for sharing.
Good day.
I'm glad you got the progression of the story.
Thank you stopping by ✨
This got me cracked 🤣.
Even in the misdt of just three students, it's never possible if the they all lock up the truth. Except spiritual Power is used😄
My dear😂 I don't know how this man wanted us to miracleously fetch out the culprits. Las las the culprit wasn't found.
On a good ground, no one( including the culprit) would come out to face such wrath.
Even if the person has 100% of integrity from home😄
The punishment from chaplain was always very intense, sometimes expulsion as such, no one would want to face the wrath.
It's well.
A religious school, right?
All those hardened punishments were placed to guide students Sha, otherwise you'd be seeing regular battles in the school.
Yes very much.
Which battle again🥲
Students, teaming up to treat a teacher's f*ck up🙈.
We did this thing in school especially those oversabi 'teaching practice' teachers.
They report the case to school authority, they'd come and wipe hell out of us in a competitive manner.
After that, we expand our tactics again!
Cut cut cut!
I'm not spoilt/bad🧐
Wongi who hissed?😃
Answer me Wongi!! Who hissed?!
I wish I knew too😂. At some point, I felt the lady was hearing things because we didn't hear any hiss. Maybe she was just out for us that night.
You were lucky and for that reason you didn't received any punishment which you were expecting.
Still the question who did it🤔?
We still do not know. No one wanted to admit or plead guilty

This is a day I would have quite enjoyed during my days in the hostel 🌚🌚
😂😂😂.. And she happened to stop in front of you..I mean how do you hiss when there is food in your mouth?😂
Babeee😂 believe me when I say that I was laughing throughout. From the time the woman stopped in front of us to the time I was assigned to be a spy by the Chaplain😅. It was one very eventful day😅
I wonder o! She actively saw us trying to eat hurriedely but she still didn't want to allow us eat in peace. Omo😂
Fear did not catch you small?😂
And I'm so envious of you. Dining prefect was my dream post. Me that likes good like there is no tomorrow 😂😂
She was looking for attention🌚.
I trust my class mates. That hiss she was looking for, everyone would have given it to her💔
I was afraid o but still I had to laugh because the set of people I entered this wahala with were comedians😂
On the contrary, it was only the meat and maybe golden morn that I used to siphon, the rest, hehe.. I never really had to to be eating although I loved and still love food😅
My classmate boys would have done this but they were too many self righteous girls in my set🥱😂
Your story runs with the antics of a few students. However, when you introduce “hissing” you lose many readers because they, simply, do not know what you mean. Your writing has promise, but it would be your benefit to be more definitive.
