By the next day, Banjo danced so hard in church. He had expectations of double income coming his way at the end of church service. He had already told his mother how he was going to send her money by that afternoon. His mother had prayed hard and blessed him with happiness.
He was proud of himself. Finally, he was becoming useful. His uncle wouldn't call his education a waste of funds anymore.

The candle...Honestly, up till this moment, I still wonder why I placed it on our old 14-inch box TV. Maybe, because we placed everything on that TV ranging from combs to books to crayons and what have you. The candle didn’t feel out of place. It was just another item finding rest on top of the 14 inches box television.
Mom came out and, maybe she was just too tired to notice, so she said nothing about its position.

The Weight of His Eyes

When he reaches for me, when his little fingers wrap around mine like I'm something steady, when he calls me Mama with his whole heart - I believe it. In that moment, I believe I was made for him.
But there are days, like today, when that belief trembles under the weight of everything I'm not.
This morning, he ran to me with a crayon drawing clutched in his fist. "Look, Mama!" He beamed. "It's me and daddy"

The next morning, the video had gone viral. Their plan had worked—but not quite the way they intended it.
"I told you not to use the title 'Stealing a Witch's Goat in Broad Daylight,'" Emeka muttered as they scrolled through the numerous comments. "You made it look like we were sacrificial lamb." He said angrily.

Village People Did Mean Me

The ceremony itself was Beautiful..,
But as I was dancing with my cousins and sisters, someone accidentally poured palm wine on my dress. Then a small child used my leg as tissue. And finally, during photo time, the photographer's flash refused to work. He said, “Just smile, we will fix it in editing.” I looked like a ghost in those pictures.
At that point, I just started laughing.

Forbidden Whisper

Daren didn’t think twice. He ran to the sewers, and he made it... He made it!
Daren was out of the city, away from the microphones and cameras that controlled his life. He laughed and shouted, feeling freer than ever. Then, a new message arrived on his watch:
-Daren, I helped you escape. Return and destroy me, please.
