Weekend Experience: Pumpkin Lanterns Festival

Our sun loves Halloween and looks forward to the Pumpkin Festival every year. Families in Lithuania celebrate it in various ways: some ask for delicacies, others serve them, others only carve pumpkins and bake terrible cookies; others do not recognize these holidays at all because they are much closer to All Saints' Day, and, according to them, you should not mess them up during this period.

Have you noticed what a special autumn mood is around? While nature still brings sunny warmth and the trees glow with golden, red, and orange shades, the city invited us to experience unique moments at the autumn celebration - Pumpkins - Lanterns Festival! It goes on every year at this time.

It is a special attraction for children, so we went to show it to our children, too. Moments like these, when we all run away from home together, are really quality time for us. To roll in the autumn leaves, to catch the sun with a smile, to breathe in the scent of autumn, to get inspiration for the soul, to make the heart happy, to exercise for the body, to communicate, to be...

In the glowing pumpkins' square, hundreds of pumpkins have glowed, and the scene is getting more and more beautiful. There was everything - fun music, various delicacies, games, entertainment, and bustle.

Pumpkin lanterns created a special mood and calm atmosphere. Golden colors of leaves and pumpkins immerse us in the beauty of autumn. It is nice when there is music playing at the festival. And that melody spreads around the city, surrounds the old town, rises above the sleeping areas, touches the birds' wings... And people think - it is good that autumn is not over yet.

The leaves in the square fall to the rhythm of a slow waltz, the wind roars a stormy symphony, and I like the autumn blues the most; when nothing seems to happen, but everything happens, when music tells about tragedies and dramas as if it were quite normal and understandable. Autumn blues - about reconciliation. In essence, life is most similar to autumn.

As autumn deepens, for some reason, I want to smile and feel sad at the same time. But not oppressively sad, but so serene, calm, and peaceful, as if I knew something sensitive and recognizable about this time of year that I cannot put into words... just feel. It is good to stop for a moment and be happy that I am not what is beautiful in the eyes of others, but who I feel the best about being.

We slowly walk from one shelf with pumpkins to another. Children keep asking to be photographed next to the pumpkins, so we often stop. To tell the truth, I do not like being in a crowd, I do not like jostling, I do not like rushing somewhere, but children are children, and sometimes they need to be made happy with such events.

Autumn is pumpkin-scented. There is no better symbol of autumn than yellow leaves crunching underfoot and orange pumpkins.

Halloween, for example, doesn't make me nervous. But the whole masquerade looks utterly silly. The only attribute of this time that is liked is pumpkins. They are delicious food at autumn and look beautiful to me. I like pumpkin soup and their orange color, which illuminates the gray autumn!
