One couch, two people

The best part of the week by a long way is the weekend; those two days can't be beaten...except when it's a long weekend and there's three days of course! I look forward to them and this weekend is no exception. I'm looking forward to snuggling with my guy on the couch and watching some movies. He's been talking about watching the Hobbit trilogy but it never seems to happen...so my treat for him tonight is the first movie...and then later...me.

I'm making lemongrass Thai chicken curry tonight, a simple recipe a friend gave me, served on white rice, and I've arranged movie night snacks for later also. I think he'll be content with that until dessert.

The plan is to make dinner then take a long bath before he gets home and be ready to greet him at the door when he arrives wearing...hmm, never you mind what I'll be wearing, lets just say he'll be glad to see me.

After an appropriate amount of kissing and hugging I'll shoo him off for a shower while I finish preparing dinner and then the evening will begin.

We're simple people and find enjoyment in simple things.

Nights in make us happy and whether playing cards, a board game, chess or Jenga, reading our books on the couch with soft music in the background, or cuddled together on the couch; we find value in quiet at-home moments. We go out sometimes sure but not often, and that's how we like.

There's a certain closeness that comes from such evenings and we're able to do it a lot more on the weekends because we work so hard during the week to get everything done. The weekends are for us, and we believe that's how it should be.

If our couch could talk, it would tell stories of togetherness, of a deep contentment my man and I feel through the presence of the other. It would talk about hand-holding, of legs tangled together and hands...well, wandering hands in exactly the right places. It would mention cups of tea, French pasties, popcorn and corn chips and it would speak of soft music of all kinds, mood lighting and flickering scented candles. It would talk about love and devotion, happiness and harmony, closeness and mutual desire.

We have a complicated life sometimes, if you've read some of my posts you'll understand why, and that makes it so much more important to unravel those complications, stresses and problems, and to create simple moments like I have planned tonight. It's those moments which balance out the complexity and unravel the knot that life sometimes entangles us in...and much of that occurs on the weekend and on our couch...and other places too.

Have a great weekend! They are important for recharging your batteries.

Even my wife and I love simple things, the warmth of our home and our sofa.
Sometimes we go out yes, but it doesn't happen often and we prefer to spend the evening watching a good film, reading on the sofa... we have to buy Jenga, for now we play cards and we bought the naval battle eh eh!

A hug to both of you!

It sounds like you two are very similar to us. I think it's a nice thing to be able to find such enjoyment in small things as they are achievable more often.

Happy weekend.

I totally agree, you know, simple things are the most beautiful!

I hope you had a nice Saturday!
Happy Sunday to you!🤗

Sounds idyllic I'm quite jealous 😁 Have a wonderful weekend together Becca, you guys deserve it.

He's easily pleased; a little imagination and some quiet moments is all it really takes.
