The Big Potential Of LEO's Creator Subscriptions

in LeoFinancelast month

I like @taskmaster4450le

He's pretty much the go to guy on chain for me when it comes to 'seeing the future of this tech'. There's something he's been saying for years on the blockchain and that's to treat your content, like a business.

Everything you do, should be viewed through the lens of building a business on chain. And I have to admit, while exciting as that may sound, I know it's not for everyone. Not everyone is wired to create a 'business' from blogging, talking about crypto, and building relationships.

However there are a chunk of people online that do dream of that....The ability to make a living from their efforts on Hive.

I was one of those people. Actually, because of the LEO team I still am!

The introduction of LEO Creator Subscriptions happened over the past day and a half. And it's really captured the imagination of the community. Rightfully so!

There is no minimum amount of followers you need to start monetizing your content through LEO's unique paywall, just be a premium member and turn it on!

Maybe we should back up a bit....

Offering 'premium' content has been around on social media for a while now. Platforms like Patreon have created new ways for creators to not only engage with their audience, but monetize it as well.

Online tipping maybe? Buy me a beer but on a much larger scale. A creator could develop content unique for his or hers paying subscribers, offer incentives, giveaways, etc. You really are online limited by your imagination with this kind of stuff. But it's be regulated by a few factors....The platform decides who gets monetized, and your follower count / reach.

LEO changed this by opening it up for everyone on the blockchain. But there's so much more to it....

No More Rewards Pool Drama

Remember over the years how the powers that be always got their panties in a bunch when it came to the rewards pool? Problem solved with creator subscriptions. Not only does the creator each some sweet $HBD but they aren't taking it from the pool.

You literally create your own business with a built in payment processor right from the get go. I like that :)

The Circle of Life

I was sitting there today coming up with ideas on how I could attract subscribers to my account, and had this aha moment about how this all plays into the circular economy of the chain.

You spend your time engaging with your audience, you build relationships, you create content for everyone but also some unique stuff for your subscribers....The machine that is Hive, allows you to do all this from your account meanwhile generating upvotes and subscriptions from your audience.

You then take some of the profits back, and go support another creator or two...The cycle repeats and everyone is literally winning. Now of course, it has to scale...But the potential is there to grow your subscriber base up, by doing what you have already been doing for years here!

It's like a self funded business model....You budget comes from your activity.

Increases Activity

That's the name of the game after all right? More users, more ACTIVE users too! I wrote more threads this afternoon than I think I have in a long time because of the engagement I had with subscribers to my 'exclusive content'.

Talk about building loyalty with your audience, this takes it to another level.

There's so much to think about when it comes to this stuff and I could go on and on.....

I dove in right away and decided to create my own unique creator subscription benefits.

For years I have been writing down ideas, quotes, thoughts, tips, strategies and lessons I've learned. As an avid reader, I filled up about 4 Moleskine journals and have countless clippings and infographics stored on my hard drives...

I thought something I could offer the LEO community is a glimpse into my 'marketing mind'.

I will be posting regular content from my journals, notes and thoughts for subscribers to my account. I'm calling them #jongojems

(Yes yes I know gems isn't spelt with a j...But I'm being fancy!!)

Now I'm not saying I'm the marketing whiz of the century, but I wrote down some pretty cool stuff that I have never shared with anyone over the years.

I'm pretty excited to turn this passion of mine that I had for some many years, into a new business right here on chain....Using nothing but LEO and Hive :)

If that's not true #web3 I'm not sure what is!

P.S. Why can't I type 'unicorn' in InLeo??? lol They need to be saved!

I think HIVE can be seen as a business, as a second or part time job.

That was always my goal with it, start as a part time gig and then make it something that could feed my family.

I think it's a good option to have but I don't see myself using it too much. There are just too many subscriptions out there now.

It's just a web 2 model that has finally made it's way here.

Hive isn’t just a scheme of having fun and that’s what we all know
It’s also a chance of creating wealth and making more money

It's helped me and my family in more ways than I can describe. Takes time, but it's worth it.

It's always good to spot opportunities and early as the case may be. Not really understanding the 'subscribers stuff' for now but I will stick around with lots of reading to learn and who knows, I may soon have what to offer.
Good hearing from you Mr. Jongo.

It's like Patreon but for Hive. Content that creators can put behind a pay wall for their paying subscribers.

Perfectly describing hive as part time job fit in well

Whereas it sounds intriguing, I find myself wondering how many people actually have something to consistetly offer to such an extent that people will actually subscribe (for pay) to see their content?

When I say that, I'm talking about actual subscriptions, not "favor subscriptions" done out of loyalty to a friend. Much as I love Hive, it's not exactly overrun with high power influencers pumping out top notch content in some appealing niche.

Again, cool idea, but has a subtext of being "a solution in search of a problem."

=^..^=

I mean, if we all spent the past few years developing our content strategies and building relationships, people can tap into this nicely.

Are we gonna get rich from it? I dont think so, until Hive as a whole has better onboarding and the top OG's loosen up their grip. But as for something to get excited for, I'm all for it.

mhmm! sounds like communism on a blockchain, surely these are things we love to see. Big ups Leofinance and Hive.

Communism? How so?

the hive community helps each other to make an earning through blogging regardless of how many followers one has . I mean no one is secluded and excluded from this new innovation.

I wouldnt describe that as communism, but people helping people is always a good thing.

okay thanks for the clarification
