Demo of Chainmonsters on the Flow Blockchain

Introduction

A few weeks ago, I dug my hands into the Flow blockchain to know more about what is under the hood. I am someone who loves discovering new projects when I have the luxury naturally. During the process, I came across the game, the potential amazing ChainMonsters.

I created my account to discover I needed a token to access the game! I was looking around just how to access the game but unfortunately; I went to their Discord channel asking. I got a response in less than five minutes that mentioned the game will be accessible on the 4th of October. I needed to wait until the 6th of October to access the demo accessible to everyone.

Chainmonster is available on the following platforms:

• iOS
• Android
• Steam

The platform of my choice is Steam because I want to play it on my laptop instead of using my smartphone. I have little space available on my smartphone and I don't want to constantly charge my battery.

The installation process of Chainmonster

It takes only around 230Mb of space on Steam to download the game. Then, as always, you need to download an update which is approximately 600Mo. It is not so bad compared to a lot of games in the spectrum of gaming in the market.

To access the download page, you need to have previously had an account on the Chainmonster website. The following screen will pop up when you click play now right on the right side of the screen. Easy to find in a manner of seconds.

The gameplay

We cannot expect much from a demo and is normal to find a few things that do not work properly. It is a way for the game project to make it shine before going to full in early 2023. Fans are eager to try it in their Discord channel and share issues and bugs that are valuable to the team.

My first move in the world was a good sensation in a full mode that I have adjusted in windowed after. I prefer the choice to move back and forth easily in a Windows environment.

The tutorial teaches you the basics of what you need to know on how to move around in their world. The basics of how to battle monsters and catch them with a replicator. You have the chance to battle from my memory with 4 monsters at the same time.

You need to fight to increase their level to strengthen them. The fun part of the game is discovering the world of Chanmonster, doing the tutorial to learn the fundamentals, and doing the quests. This part I have not started but is something I intend to do!

Conclusion

You can finally play the demo on Steam, iOS, and Android, and the game has potential. You need to be aware not to expect anything in the current stage of development of the game. Development is a long, tedious, and difficult task to bring something people enjoy playing.
