No More Bets (2023) ~ Movie Review

I think there are lots of learnings from this movie. One is "don't trust a too good to be true salaries abroad" because if that's too good to be true, then that is a syndicate that works underground and one might end up this kind of situation from the movie itself.

Mr. McMahon (series): I binge watched almost the entire thing in one day

The series is mostly interviews with stars past and present and while some people that are more wholesome like Jon Cena probably hold back a lot on how much insider information they are willing to give, there are a lot of people that seriously defend Vince and to keep things fair, there are a lot of people that they interview that absolutely hate the guy.

[ESP-ING] "Sharp objects": ¿Una producción sobrevalorada?

Let's break this story down in parts, beginning with Camille's past. As the chapters progress, numerous flashbacks are presented that reveal her traumatic childhood, the death of her sister, her mother's remarkable detachment, and her experience as a victim of what appears to be gang rape during her teenage years. Also, in rehab for her alcoholism, her roommate commits suicide. This brings me to my first criticism of the character and how her story has been handled: the use of flashbacks was abused, which in the end add nothing to the plot nor adequately explain some of her traumas or why she constantly remembers them. Actually, the character is pathetic, although Amy did a good job playing her.

Hablemos de Close (Review)✨

The characters, even though the main characters are children, I feel that they approached it perfectly, it is important to see them from the perspective of a child, because if you see the film from the perspective of an adult, you will not understand anything and you will not understand the emotions that these characters carry. However there is an adult character that you can understand perfectly, in my case I saw the movie with my 14 year old sister, she was affected, she did not understand much the behavior of the adult, so I had to explain to her, for my part I had to see it from both sides. I was once a child who went through similar situations, now I am 23 years old and I can understand the other side.

Wolfs [2024] - Movie Review!

I would categorize this film as a crime thriller that goes hand in hand with comedy. I don't know if you saw and remember the way they talked to each other in Ocean's Eleven, dialogues full of irony, sarcasm and always with a perennial beef; well, that's how it is here. The thing is that by dedicating themselves to the same thing they are like two peas in a pod, they are two people exactly alike so that generates a clash between them and that's when we see these interactions that fall into grace. But all this does not detract from the seriousness of the film, behind it there is a plot full of suspense that as the night progresses becomes more dangerous.

The Adversary (2002): journey to the heart of horror | un viaje al corazón del horror

The film is based on the true story of Jean-Claude Romand (in the film the names have been changed, but the rest of the details have been kept fairly faithful to the story) as told by Emmanuel Carrère in his book, but which had already made the front pages of all the French newspapers and newsreels because this "journey to the heart of horror" didn't end with Jean-Claude's false life but with a multiple homicide. On January 9th, 1993, Jean-Claude murdered his wife, his two children, his parents (who lived about 80 km away), set fire to his own house and attempted suicide. How seriously he wanted to die is debatable, as he managed to survive the drug intake, but it was later revealed that he did what he did because his facade began to crack and on the verge of being discovered, instead of telling the truth and revealing the lies he had told since he was eighteen, he chose to silence his loved ones, those to whom he could no longer lie. He didn't have the courage to look them in the face and confess his truth, but he did have enough courage to shoot them. Although the film doesn't show the arrest or the trial, which Carrrère's book does, it does include some scenes of interrogations of witnesses and those of the murders. As expected, Romand was sentenced to life imprisonment, but what no one expected at the time was that he would be released after twenty-two years in prison, on June 28th, 2019, and that he would be confined to the Fontgombault Abbey. The man who murdered his parents, his wife and his children is no longer in jail.

Review: Joker | Visual Journey into Madness

One of the central themes in the story is the disconnect between the different social classes. Gotham is divided between the rich and the extremely poor, and this divide is palpable in several scenes, Arthur is a product of this environment, a man who has been shunned by all those who should have helped him. It's a story that explores the lack of empathy and indifference, and how this can drive someone over the edge, and it does so in a way that is brutally honest...the main character's relationship with his mother is another important aspect of the film. We get little glimpses of all that extra baggage Arthur has, and we see how this connection slowly contributes to his descent into madness, the revelation about his true origin is one of the key moments of the film. I think it conveys very well what would be that mental breakdown that anyone could have on a bad day, in a bad week or in a bad life.
