Our winners today

🥇 Around Leuven by @plantfuljourney

A couple of days in Leuven were enough to bring back all the nice memories of one year that I spent here 16 years ago. I remembered the streets, my walk to the university, found the shop where I did my grocery shopping, even the hospital where I went when I hurt my eye, thought about my friends and teachers, and shared all of this with my husband. It was so great to be back in the city with him. We had dinner in the restaurant that I couldn't afford during my studies and it was even better than expected - worth all of these years of waiting 😊

🥈 My mountain hikes no. 25 - Szpiglasowy Wierch by @olusiu

In March last year I wrote about an unsuccessful attempt to climb Szpiglasowy Wierch in winter and then our trip ended almost in the clearing behind Minich, although in truth we didn't even get there then. This time, taking advantage of the beautiful Polish golden autumn, we decided to try to conquer this mountain again and this time we succeeded, but it wasn't without adventures. We started the day in Zakopane, where we had a hotel night until 11 a.m. so we didn't rush to get up in the morning. This was a mistake, because when we finally pulled ourselves together and arrived at the previously booked parking lot in Palenica Białczańska, it turned out that there was no space there, and what's worse, there was no space on the access road to Palenica Białczańska, and the only place we could park was the parking lot at the border crossing in Łysa Polana, a little over a kilometer away from the starting point of the trail. Thanks to the fact that we had reserved a place in the shelter by Morskie Oko, after walking the first 8 kilometers and overcoming 500 meters of elevation, we could go to our reserved room and leave our things there. The room was top class, it was true that there were 6 beds in it, but we were the first, so we reserved two neighboring beds right by the window. We repacked our things into one large backpack and left it in the corner, and in the second smaller backpack we packed the necessary provisions and set off on the trail.

🥉 Laguna La Bocaina, Estado Carabobo, Venezuela by @jesuslnrs

I thought it would be a normal day at the beach, but wow, life and the beautiful landscapes of my country had something else in store for us, and I think it was the only thing that was worth the little information my brother gave me about the beach trip we would be taking. We did not have a car, and thanks to that we enjoyed a small National Park in Carabobo, Venezuela, called San Esteban, Laguna La Bocaina, in the Flamingo area, which is also in the town of Patanemo.

The first surprise when you start walking the road to Patanemo Bay is to find hundreds of flamingos on the shallow waters of the lagoon, and I say hundreds not to say thousands, because although it is not visible in the photo, they were lost in the horizon. The whole area is surrounded by beautiful green mountains where the clouds lie and a practically dry lagoon that works as a mirror of the sky and the mountains and at the same time lets you see the variety of rocks that hide underwater, of all sizes and colors.
