At the observation deck and around

in Pinmapple2 years ago

Greetings, travelers and world explorers!

We spent three calm and beautiful days recently at the small town of Byala, Bulgaria.

In Bulgarian language, "Byala" means "white", feminine. But why an ordinarily looking small town at the sea had been called "White"? On the last day of our stay there we found out - the sea shore there is very steep, probably like ten-stories building or even more and the stone sediments there are very bright, almost completely white, I'd say. Especially when it is all lit by the sunlight. That day we had a very long, too long of a walk by the sea and we almost burned, our skins having the outlook of boiled crabs. Ouch! But that is a story for another time.

Now let's get back to the beginning of the first day. We checked the map and saw an interesting point called "White Cliffs/Prehistoric Cliffs". That sounded quite interesting so I set it on my phone navigation and we jumped in the car.

Few minutes later we were driving on a dirt road and shortly after that we reached a sign saying that from this point on is "bicycle only". So we left the car there and continued on foot.

We walked, and walked, and walked, but there was no "Prehistoric Cliffs", nor "White Cliffs". Only an endless dirt road, LOL. Some time later we realized that point on the map is not correct. Not at all.

However, our beautiful walk was not in vain.

We found a bird observation deck, three-storied, quite a stable construction, built with financing and support from the European Union nature funds. You know, there are always those big information boards on such construction. However, I was much more impressed by the primitive table and two chairs, build by raw wooden planks, just few meters away from the bird observation deck.

Imagine having a supper there, with cold white wine, salads and sea food :) That would be magical, wouldn't it? :) Considering the fresh sea breeze, the awesome views and the endless horizon...

We met a wandering couple, who did the same exactly as we did - read the info board about all the birds that could be seen in the area around.

We continued to "scan" the area around, I was hoping to see and take photos of some beautiful elevated seascapes, probably some of those birds, that the platform was built for. Nothing of those two happened, hehehe. We found several narrow tracks but the way each of them ended, we concluded they were all made by wild animals or dogs.

The whole walk was very scenery, calm and almost in full silence. I was hearing only the birds chirping, the songs of the crickets, a cicada or two. And now and then, the sounds of moving lizards and probably other reptiles in the grass around us.

Even one brave turtle, that checked us out :)

Finally realizing we're not going to see any white cliffs, I opened my eyes for the beautiful nature surrounding us.

The pale but sweet aroma of the blossoming rosehips along the road...

The "carpet", formed by this lovely green grass.

A huge surprise to find hundreds of dill plants, you probably know how aromatic it is to grind some between your fingers. I did that a few times, so strong, so rich in flavor too. We have some growing in our garden but it cannot compare at all to the free-ranged dill! I really wondered who has thrown seeds of dill there.

Now last, but not least, I love how Nature creates some abstract art pieces. The photos is not tilted or rotated. This is exactly real, as I found it there. Such an amazing natural background...

So warm, it asks and seduces you to touch it, doesn't it?

Well, I did touch it. Several times. Being deeply grateful for all that beauty in Nature around...

Amazing photographs! Dill plants look awesome. A enjoyable place to travel to.

Thank you! I was really impressed by the fresh look of those several dill plants. I'd rather use the word "bushes" as they were huge :)
